I would tend to agree 100% on that, it grabbed me on first hearing it and still does, I actually get goosebumps when listening or watching it to this day.

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Brian Burns. One of the neat things about this version is he names all of the men who were lost on the ship. Song runs over 8 minutes long. [tube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LRBmIqzO6o[/tube]

I like both...They have very different feels. The original with a sweet, slowish latin beat, the cover a more driving pop/rock feel.

Something that I would never have heard if not for asking this question, which was the reason for asking it. My only gripe was that whoever compiled the "video" didn't put the names in the same order as they were called. Would have been way more effective if they had been synced to the music.

Mother Nature's Son cover by John Denver off the Rocky Mountain High album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbJQoL4av_A Increasing the tempo and the wall of guitars song production makes the cover much more joyful than the intimate original Mother Nature's Son by The Beatles on the White Album (video not available).

I prefer the original recording, but it's always interesting to see it performed like this - really shows off the individual parts that might not be noticed when just listening.
