Bass is my main instrument, followed closely by keys.

The instrument I wish I could play better is guitar.

    Guitar.
Though I started on Bass. Played in student and city Symphony.
I can get by on keys thanks to the miracle of MIDI editing
Actually, I can play just about anything after a few days of trying, other than woodwinds. I never could get that lip thing going. Used to be good on numerous Brass instruments and String Bass, Cello...

The one I have the hardest with is the kazoo.

Cryo, I always took you for a keys first guy. Shows how little I actually glean from these forums.

Nowadays, I actually play keys more than bass, simply because it's pretty much impossible to do create dance music without 'em. But, I spent the better part of my late teens through mid-30s playing bass in bands, doing some session work, etc.

Actually, unlike the demersal suckers (Family Catostomidae) and carp (Genus Carpio), basses (Family Centrarchidae) are largely piscivorous, but will also prey on aquatic and terrestrial invertebrates, amphibians, and rodents. Oh sorry, that's my day job. Speaking of which...

I'll only flame if it's a virtual sampler.

Actually, I think anything you can bang, pluck, push or blow is prolly an instrument.

Ed, well real sampler back in the day = 32mb... patches now 32mb + in some cases..hehe

could I ever afford the grand pianos featured in NI akostic or the ones in Reason pianos? nope and they took care of the decent recordings in decent studios.. so thats how I look at it.

but I still need to use a keyboard or drum pads to trigger them

I stumble around my Keyboard, and my Guitar and Bass. Drums not to much of a problem but I do not have a physical kit.

I would like to learn to play them all better.

John , I never got the foot / arm coordination with drums the very few times I messed about with them. I guess that comes with time and a bit like driving etc.

Bass for me, vocals second, neither of which very well. Good enough to club, not good enough to get all rich and famousy.

Frankly, the studio is becoming my #1 priority, but I can't imagine NOT playing bass. It's how I self-identify.

Keys are my primary instrument. Nord Stage Compact as you can see in my avatar.

I'm working on left-hand bass. Every few months, I have to cover for a MIA bass player.

Also working on finger drumming. But I've got a long way to go before trying this stunt in public ...

yea and they dont let you take a solo very often either. guitar gets
all the solos. And if you use distortion they think your amps blown up.

Guitar. Reasonably badly, but I play the best air guitar in the known universe.

I can muddle by on keyboards - most chords and their inversions aren't a problem.

I can also wave a mean air-baton - conducting an orchestra must be totally brilliant.

Guitar, but bought myself a Hohner Pianet T back in 1981 and used that to learn keyboards on, then moved to bass just to get a regular gig , then taught myself blues harmonica back in the early nineties, then in 2000 bought myself a drum kit and I am now a gigging drummer !!!

Still consider myself a guitarist first and foremost, just glad to grow up in the 20 / 21st century where virtuosity is not required as I dont think I ever would have made Carnegie Hall !!!
