While it shouldnt be forced, I wish we still had ID cards, just because needing to use a passport for identity instead is lame. Everytime I go to the bank and forget my pin, oh noes, Im not me anymore, Im somebody else pretending to be me.
Recently in NYC they introduced city ID cards. I ended up getting one of those instead of replacing my lost driver's license. I don't even drive, and it sure as hell beat sitting in a NY DMV for 3 hours. The only thing you can't use them for is to buy booze or get into clubs. Which is fine because I don't drink.

You should get things in perspective. Last year a good friend of mine, a talented tattoo artist in Newcastle, suffered a serious double stroke after being beaten by some students. He almost died, and is left in a wheelchair with limited vision and hearing and needs round the clock care. You should see the trouble he's having getting an adapted home for him and his girlfriend & kids. They're turning him down left right and center. But not to worry, they said, if you don't get a home we'll give you a place in a nursing home (away from his family). So you want to thank your lucky stars that you're not in his position.

Damn, Im pretty sure hes already registered with the council and social housing companies in his area? I thought mine being on the council list for about 5 years now and getting nothing despite familial break down and mental healtg issues was crap, but Ive been beat. Currently got a list of 4 shared ownership houses to get through, its looking like I have a solid chance of getting the least attractive one of the lot as no one else wants them, while the rest are in high demand. Shared ownership works out awesome for people on welfare in the UK cos you get your rent, council tax and mortgage interest all paid off with benefits. But the problem is actually getting such a house in the first place.

Going back to the events on London Bridge and at Borough Market, I've just been reading about some of the people who fought back against the terrorists; http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-40149836 Romanian baker Florin Morariu saw a commotion outside Borough Market's Bread Ahead bakery, where he works, and invited some distressed Brazilian women inside and gave them a glass of water.When they told him that three men were stabbing people in the market, he headed outside with two crates to tackle the attackers. "I just threw the crate at [one of the attackers]. I threw the first crate and I knew he was going to dodge it. While he was dodging it, I walked towards him and hit him in the head with the other crate." I wonder if I'd have the guts to do the same.

I'm not sure that England is worse than other places ... however ... I do think that the media is better centered to let us know something happened, whereas if this happened in many other places, you might not find out about it for weeks, if ever.
In many ways, the media is the problem. In the old days, you used Radio Free Europe and blasted the communist block with Beatles and Chuck Berry ... and nowadays, you blast the headlines with stories about these bombings, and I think that these have a tendency to duplicate and continue and spread ... like someone saying ... what a great idea ... and this or that place are always empty of security ... or some thing or other like that.
I kinda have this idea that this is just a copy of the typical Hollywood (and other places) movies with glorified violence ... and I can't help wondering if glorified sex might actually be safer to show people than ...
It's a weird time, and really hard to make a judgement, however, I came from a fascist country and we all wanted some freedom to get out also ... but in those days, the arts and literature, were the arms ... that played a really strong role in making sure that things are noticed.
How times have changed!
Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

But I grew up in a time, when the short wave was huge and you could hear some of those things being blasted in Europe, and then seeing the things being stopped in Portugal (censorship of way too many American movies even, with scenes taken out and voice overs/subtitles erased), and what things have changed since the 1950's ... you have to look at that history ... and you can see a pattern ... the same thing happened in England with the pirate ship history that changed the course of popular music forever. The BBC did its best to stop it for years, until they lost the battles and the war! History shows something ... that we're not wanting to see, is how I look at it. It's showing a future that is a very harsh reality ... but it probably has always been like that, anyway! Even without the music. Look at the arts in the 1800's in Europe and you know that the wars in Europe, were influencing everything in the arts, and the extreme could even to be said to be the famous Marquis ... but then, with guillotines on the popular front like rock'n'roll, I'm not sure that the extremes were not exactly already on display. And have forever, been!

James, it's just a code you have to decipher (using the Pedro to Reality translator) in order to get the message....you just have to pick out words that you think will relate and put it into a meaning you can understand....i.e.: History shows a pattern of lost battles/wars of things being blasted in Europe that we're just not wanting to see. imho unfortunately the media hype and political adversaries are doing much to create these attacks as it fits their agenda - a self-fulfilling prophecy.
give some loser/fool a motivation to go out quickly and "be remembered"- they are not pious religious people who follow teachings of their faith with examples of good deeds as others do
last month in nyc when the dui ran into and killed a bunch of folk in nyc- everyone was waiting for some terrorist connection, baited breath- but, nope- dui instead, so it is just as quickly forgotten about
ok, so some crazy nutbars attacked and killed a few good folk, right at about the same time how many ODd from fentanyl ? how many died from cancer, exposure, disease etc ?
it's like someone worrying about an ink-stain on their shirt in a burning house - there are bigger issues endangering all of us and future generations
these losers dont deserve the worlds attention because there will always be someone looking for an excuse to harm someone else for his/her own failings in life- dont reward them thusly
