My first Asparagus... wow, that takes me back...
She was slim and warm. She appeared at a family barbecue, introduced by my ex-wife's uncle, she wore only a single slice of proscuitto in the hot summer sun. She was only in my life for a very brief time, but it was immediate love. Some affairs just aren't meant to last. Besides, I'm a realist: things might have gone bad if we had taken our time. Still I believe I carry a little bit of her deep inside me, even now, years later.

Man that touched me. I bet there are still those cynics out there though that say she was just a little portion on the side.

Nope.

Actually, I don't think I was disparaging. The Asparagus was a step up from the wife at the time...

Advocate and Avocado

There's only a few words from Nahuatl that made it into English - chocolate, coyote.

Ahuacatl (testicle) is one of the few other ones, yes - in a slightly changed form.

Space, I may decide to argue against this position, not as a committed opponent but simply for the sake of argument or to determine the validity of your position.

I have had that. It's a hybrid of Habanero Diablo and Avocado. You will definitely NOT stand on THAT stool.

This is an asparagus topic, if you want to discuss competitive vegetables go to their respective threads, yes?

My first Asparagus was a reel to reel with 1 inch stalk. It was only stereo, so you had to eat everything on the fly, which was great when the meal was really tight, but horrid when the carrots and the potatoes couldn't chew in time with the steak. Then I moved onto a 4-stalk Asparagus, which allowed me to overdub and bounce things around (squash - not so bouncy). Finally in the late '90s I got myself a proper Digital Asparagus Workstation and the things I can eat now are just incredible! Butter on corn, a little salt and pepper on my ommlette, full meals - unlimited courses!!! Who'd 'a thunk it back in the day! Oh, her name was Yolanda, and she played me as much as I played her....oooohhhh yeah....
