yorolpal Yea, there are several folks we haven't seen in a while but who, like Strike above, do eventually pop in. But ol John is usually in on just about everything and is a very frequent poster. I sure hope he's just on a nice vacation or something but to be honest I'm a bit concerned. I PM'd John last week and haven't gotten an answer. Not that we are great buddies but we did talk (email) about viet nam and and a few other thingss a while back-in PM's. I think he is just doing other stuff. The cup should always be Half full Frank

Hey sm70, ol pal. I agree the cup should be 1/2 full...but this forum is John's (seemingly) favortie pastime over the last few years. Let's hope we hear from him soon.

Well, I always say "if the glass is half full, just get a smaller glass" I bet John got the beta copy of X1 and he just can't tear himself away from it long enough to tell us about it...I hope. And remember yorolpal, I know what I'm talking about as I've been here alot longer than you have...

Wow, a quick google search for that song name brings up multiple songs with that name written by different people. So I guess that's how the songs go... And yes, knowing I've been here a day longer than you makes me feel smarter.

You all are awesome. I am sorry I caused any worry. I simply needed to get a new ISP. It took a lot longer then I thought it should. Having read this thread I am humbled by it. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and very great new year. I am back! Its things like this that let one know who ones real friends are. I have also been very busy with helping putting on the parade for veteran's day. I am making a documentary of it and how it gets done and why those that do it get involved. I have also been asked to do some other video and photographic stuff that has taken up a lot of my time. I should have checked in and let you all know all was well with me. Sorry for that lapse.

"I am making a documentary of it and how it gets done and why those that do it get involved." That's so John-like. :-) I think one of the greatest gifts you share with this forum community is the insight that society, community, friendship etc is something that results from conscientious effort. Keep up the good work... that seems like a very rewarding topic to explore and tell the story of. best regards, mike
