Who has the metronome bug?

I honestly can't tell what's going on with this. If I open an older project created before 2016-03, or create a new project the metronome is non-functional until I toggle the master FX button in the control panel. At first I thought it was related to the tempo mapping feature but now I'm not sure.

I know at least one other person has run into this so I'm looking for others that are affected.

Regards, John

Are you starting new projects from a custom template? What if you start one from SONAR's Basic template or from File > New > BLANK? Have you re-booted? Sounds like something's up with the GroovePlayer.DLL that's used to render the click. You might try rolling back, checking the metronome and then updating again.

If you right click metronome buttons are they audio triggers or MIDI? Just out of curiosity I did this in M1 with a project started as MIDI, and the metronome was set to MIDI output (defaults to channel 10 which was not assigned to anything). Toggling global FX did nothing (of course), but I never shifted the metronome to MIDI that I recall either.

I rarely use the metronome so assumed it remained on audio. Not sure now.

I'm using audio for the metronome. I went in and set up the metronome prior to starting the project so I'm sure it was configured correctly. The FX toggle has to be done once or twice before the audio is enabled. There's something glitchy going on. Once I've got it going there are no problems. I can restart and reload the project and the mtro. works fine.

Can you share a link to a download of a bundle for a stripped down version of the project that exhibits this?

I think brundlefly may have gotten me on track. I just tried a creating a new project using the Sonar default settings and it worked fine. Everything else I was working with was done with my template and whatever preferences I had set. Of course everything I had previously worked on would have it's own unique preferences even though they started with the same template.

I will try a couple older projects and if I find one that glitches I'll isolate it and send a link to the brain trust.

    Thanks.

I also have the metronome not working anymore since last update 2016-03; both on existing and new projects. I am on windows 10 64bit. Not entirely sure if it is me, or a bug, but given comments above, might be a small bug

Did you try enabling/disabling the global FX bypass button in the mix module? Yours may be a different issue though as I have had no problems with new projects - just a couple of projects that were authored in previous versions then edited and saved in 2016-03.
After the fx bypass cycle on/off, the metronome returned to normal. It continued to work after resaving the project.

I believe the bakers are looking into it.

I've found that if you fix the glitch by toggling the master FX button it stays fixed, so there is a viable work around.

I think Dave (Brundlefly) may be on to something since the audio metronome is a plugin of sorts...

I have the metronome issue too (since installing 2016.03). Haven't had a chance to test the workaround yet

Finally got around to checking last night and mine works fine.  2016.03 version, but if there is a .71B (which I saw mentioned in some thread) and it represents an update from the Early Release .71, then I don't have "B" installed" if that makes a difference.

I ran into this problem on Platinum 2013.03 this evening.  The metronome stopped working during an active session.  As suggested in posts above, toggling the global FX button fixed the problem.

Not sure of the sequence when the metronome stopped working.  I had disabled all FX, and changed the metronome sound under Preferences, and did some playback with the metronome enabled (metronome on for playback and record).  I likely saved the project during the process.
