My memory is coming back a little--it's been more than 30 years since I moved from NJ. I think I was in the Buttzville area to go to Bud Lake, Lake Hopatcong, and I occasionally went to the Stanhope House to catch some music. They used to get some good bands in there.
Your right. 46 through Buttzville takes you to all those places. The Stanhope House was a rough place but there were some great bands there. Old #7, Jokers Wild, Sunny ... to name a few. We played at The High Noon in Bud Lake and were regulars. It was a hole in the wall, but she brought in some great bands from NYC and all over.
Most of the other rafting and canoeing was on the Delaware, but we usually went up to Port Jervis, NY. Now I'm getting homesick.
That whole area up there in the tri state area is beautiful. It's like a different world. The oldest road in NJ, the last dirt road iirc, goes along the Delaware from around Blairstown all the way up to Port Jervis where it turns to pavement. Old Mine Road. I used to take it at end of the day to get home when I had to go to PJ. It was quicker than the highway because nobody was ever on it. And you avoided those darned Park Rangers. They were brutal. 5mph over and they would nail you to the wall. :) Sorry to get OT. I know there's strict rules about not getting OT here. :) HEHE Yeah, Chicago Hot Dog's are the best. :)

This is the Coffee House. Isn't everything OT?  There IS a reason they call NJ the Garden State. Unfortunately, most people only see the road from Newark airport to NYC and think what hell hole it is.

Hey Old, you are correct the Hot Dog is CHICAGO style. Try the double cheese burger it's also EXCELLENT!
I'm not a big fan of everything on my dog so I stick with mustard "BRITE GREEN relish", onions and celery salt.

I occasionally like some ketchup or even BBQ sauce on a dog. Sorry. In this case, I'm going for the authentic flavor of a Chicago dog--just the way that Portillo's serves it.
