Megadeth frontman influencing the vote of a large world power.

It will make me feel safer and more secure in my bed tonite.

I think I'll be able to skip my hot chocolate even.

Even if somebody was born in Timbuctoo how does that have any influence on their ability to do a particular job effectively?

Isn't that the reason guys become musicians guitarists?

Just a FYI but the most sacred job in England is that of the Nations' team manager and the last two we've had have been foreigners.

And this is where my theory.....err.......falls apart and crashes and burns....

I first met Mustaine when he was 16. In later years it became apparent he had begun to confuse talent with wisdom. He's often reminded of the saying of a true wise man. It's better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

Even if somebody was born in Timbuctoo how does that have any influence on their ability to do a particular job effectively?
Because someone born in, say, North Korea, doesn't think the same way as someone born in, say, North Dakota.

And your next response is going to be, so what if he was born in Timbuktu, he moved when he was 6 months old to Hawaii.

And my response is, because that's what our constitution, or one of those silly documents everyone's trying to destroy these days, says. Can't remember which one ottomh. And that's all there is to it. :)

That pdf of his b-cert that he released was not an original. It was manipulated. Being in the scanning and printing business since I was 14, I picked up on it right away that it was altered. I'm not saying the information that was written on it was altered, I'm saying that entire scan was altered for some reason and it adds even more suspicion to the whole thing.

I could care less either way. It's too late to do anything now anyway even if I did care. :) I just thought it was really funny that a heavy metal guy would be an R. I always thought those kind of guys just didn't give a poop one way or the other.

Ya, but it's not important like England Football manager or anything.

Besides GWB had the job for awhile, how hard can it be?

I love right-wing revisionism it's so dumb it's funny, the funniest part of it is that none of it's protagonists seem to be able to see it that way.

    :)

Poor GWB. He really took a shot in the nads by the media and a lot of people fell for it.

If you look at him, and Barry, you can clearly see how the media can help or kill you.

You think it's bad now, wait until the R's learn how to use the internet's. We ain't seen nothing yet.

I'm not for or agin' either side. I firmly believe if there is an R in the big seat, there should be a D in the little seat. As it is now, it's too one sided and too much bickering and I felt that way when GWB was in too.

Well now, I think all that's left is some Bigfoot and Alien (the outer space kind) anal probing discussion to cover here in the CH today, and we can wrap things up and get a good nights sleep.

And come to think about it when did America last have a native American president?
Now would be the time for a Native American to run, seriously. For President that is. LOL! Heh. I would vote for a Native American (and their values) before any of the current runners, including the current guy in office.

I'm part Native American, Iroquois to be somewhat exact. There's five tribes that form the Iroquois Nation but I don't know which one my family came from. Their land stretched all the way up in to Canada in the East. I have a book that says there was a sixth that joined toward the end when they tried to organize, but it was too late. My heritage is about the only thing I'm proud of in my life to be honest.

Speaking of Canada, why don't people bust on them, or Australia, Africa, Iran, Iraq, Europe, etc. I don't understand why America is always singled out in this? :( There's almost nowhere that didn't belong to somebody else at one point or another that wasn't forcefully taken. Not saying it's right, but it's certainly not unique to North America.
I thought the predominant part of the population were migrants, no?
The predominant part of the population are multi-generational U.S. citizens. There are a lot of immigrants also. The definition of migrant isn't really clear in these days. Most people that I know refer to migrants as people who are not legally recognized as U.S. citizens that are living here illegally for extended periods of time and accepting financial assistance from our social services.

As for revisionism, everybody does that. :)

Well, what other definition is there?  The so-called "Indians" (mislabled when Columbus thought he had sailed all the way to India) were also immigrants that came across the ice bridge between Asia and Alaska.

Yep. I remember reading an article somewhere that some tribes of Indians in North America have DNA that can be traced back to Asian decent. IIRC, they were a mixture of Asian and Mesoamerican (Chinese and Mexican).
