Well, if they are not taking you seriously now I don't think X1 is going to do it.

I think it all depends on whether you cut the eye holes in the right spot on the X1 box before you put it over your head.

Breast implants and a set of knee pads will get you further than any software will...

I don't think anyone cares what you use.  It is the end product, and the knee pads, of course.

    LOL!! Too funny :P

Yeah, what others said, it don't matter what your using.. it's the songs that matter most and without any doubt whatsoever Sonar is way more than capable of producing quality, professional end results :)

yeah... with implants and knee pads of course LOL!!

Only if you use the 'Pro Channel' on every track and make sure it's all turned up to 11. The clue is in the name, 'Pro'!

I don't care, really. I would even not know that there is a soooo much anticipated game Call of Duty. I even did not hear the name of a composer Sean Murray before I noticed a thread at this forum, and then noticed Cakewalk put this info at the home page. I wouldn't do it, though. Each of us is a Beethoveen, as long as the song is a true heart beat and is a love message (not a demo))), not hate or a war message.

In fact, one day in a recent past (after I switched to Home Studio 7XL from Music Creator 5, but not yet upgraded to Sonar 8.5 Producer), having Alan Parsons CD on sport, I was dissapointed by his tone. Then one song war imaginery caused me to recall he is a grown up Abbey Road technician. He now teach others online how to record music. While I still love few of his song, he is no longer an Authority. Yesterday I did not like Sean Murray music association with frightening images of the Call of Duty, a good reason not to listen to his music for even a minute.

P.S. You know what the freedom is? It is the respect of others to live their own life, no matter what they do. I come to realise this couple years ago, when making a cover picture of myself with homeless at the town street for my online community newspaper. I then thought it will be great one day my son come to me asking what is this picture about, and I would tell him exactly the same.

With respect to all mentioned at length of this post!

If you can't produce multi-platinum records using 8.5, don't rely on XI, or ANY other DAW software to help your cause.

I respect you, Middleman. But if you go for the breast implants I will not admit that in public. Perhaps a less-expensive approach might be changing your name to, say, the Ohm symbol, dress entirely in fuchsia and refer to yourself as "the artist formerly known as Middleman". They'll be calling you a genius in no time. Shave your head and cop a really annoying and arrogant attitude, and CW may even offer you an endorsement deal.

No one has dared pose the most pressing question re X1: will the new t-shirts now be white, breaking with the long tradition of black tees?

The X1 t-shirts will let you place the arm and head holes anywhere you like. After all, we're talking T-shirt 2.0 here. None of that tired old head-hole-at-the-top nonsense that's so last-decade. These will let you place the head-hole anywhere you like, even on a separate shirt. There will no doubt be some initial confusion, but rest assured that user-definable head-hole positions will greatly improve t-shirt usage. The new T-set feature will let you remember where you last put the head-hole.

    Dave,

Maybe we can suggest to the OP to change the thread subject title to something like:

"Will we ever take the music industry seriously again???"

    ;)
