It's a bit doomed to failure, this tangent, I think. None of us have anything like enough data to draw meaningful conclusions here.

But we have screenshots

In stock there are different kinds of shares. Just because someone has stock in a company doesn't mean they own it. I don't know what the situation is with CW and Roland I just remember what Grieg said.

Who's Henderhoff?
I think he meant Greg Hendershott, Cakewalk founder & CEO.

I know. I just thought it was funny. Like was John thinking Hasselhoff or Hendershott? We got something in between...

The Hoff would only listen to it if he'd done the vocals for it himself.

It would have gone down a storm in Germany if he had though.

With regards to the so called tangent; I'm just saying that I am imagineering that SONAR X3 is going to come inside a small white box that has some channel strips with knobs and sliders...  and it will work great.

I could be wrong. ;-)

best regards,
mike

If you've got more money for Cakewalk before they make everything work as it should in X1, you deserve every crash and every disappointment you get....

I sure hope there is an X1d. I was checking out X1c today for about 15 min and it crashed while I was trying to expand one of the buses in the bus pane. The transport was stopped. I've had every version Cakewalk has put out since 1992 and X1 is by far the most unstable except for Cakewalk 7.0 in 1998.

I was hoping they would restore some lost features from 8.5 in X1c. It's obvious they have their hands full with more pressing issues like these crashes. I'll be royally pissed if they don't have an X1d.

There are too many like me that find X1 useless and not ready for any serious work. Although I'll be happy and be willing to forget about all of this if they do the right thing and come out with X1d. In the past Cakewalk has been very fair about situations like this. Let's hope Roland hasn't changed this.

If you're saying that the future looks like an optionally installed software DAW running on a general purpose computing platform, with some additional hardware for audio I/O, then I agree. How this is different from the present is less clear to me.

I think it is clear that there isn't any difference.
