I have it installed.  Haven't had a chance to check out how Sonar will work or what needs reactivating.

Well, what I have seems to be working without reactivation like it was in the Creator's Upgrade.  However Microsoft has a new update procedure that only updates what needs updating, not a complete new version.

Others may find items that need reactivation as I only have a limited few.

Hi,
After 1709 I can't even start Platinum. After the splash I only get a little window saying:

Windows Installer,
Preparing to install...
and a cancel button.

It never finishes and nothing happens when pressing cancel. I've tried several rollbacks on Platinum but no change. I remember seeing that window rushing by before but never getting stuck like this. Is there some kind of safe mode I can start in?

Any suggestions?

I had not updated window 10pro in many months then a couple weeks ago it was suggested that my virus software needed a windows update... ha! That didn't work...
The windows update took hours and when it rebooted it said "welcome to creator"
I had to re activate AD2 and shut off all the stuff windows turned back on... but it seems to be solid. The odd thing is that I can't find any reference to Creator being installed. Still says Win10 Pro in the system area.
I turned updates off right after that update.

anyone know if there is a way to see if creator is truly installed?

I just found all stand alone plugs got the same problem. I guess then it has to do with my Yamaha AG06 ASIO driver causes it. A warning to those using that one!

To finish off my case. I reinstalled the Yamaha driver and everything sprung to life. Even better I got a huge performance boost in Sonar. Tracks that needed freeze before now can run real time. If it's because my driver was bugged or 1709 I can't tell.

Windows 10 ver 1709 just installed on my system and Sonar Platinum and my sessions seemed to have survived, although Windows re-enabled everything I had manually disabled in device manager. I ran LatencyMon for an hour and it all seems good.

1703 is the "Creator's Upgrade", not the fall update. ??
I would suspect the 1709 wasn't fully installed?

These updates normally kick in on a Tuesday but take time to go around to every system.
Yes it is worth mentioning that after the update you will have to disable stuff like on-board sound cards again if you had previously disabled them. Windows audio has had some further enhancements by the looks of it too.

Cool tip about running winver.  I usually use msinfo32 which gives that info and a whole lot more.

I blocked all Windows 10 updates on my Recording Workstation after installing 10 initially.

Run: services.msc
Look for "Windows Update" and stop the service.

I have two copies of Win 10 on my laptop, dual boot with separate SSD's.  One has Win 10 and all the apps that came with the PC.  The other copy has Win 10 and Sonar, only.  Both have been upgraded to the fall creator's update (1709) and on my "Recording" version, I ran Latency Mon for 30 minutes and no problems.  However, its only the basic Sonar and the driver for my MOTU 896Mk3 Hybrid.  I use this for "on site" recordings but don't do any processing as anything is transferred to my desktop for whatever needs to be done and then mixdown.

It seems that now with Ver. 1709 they took away the option to turn "Game Mode" on or off.

No problems with SONAR on 3 computers.

It is always "1703". The cracking point is the BUILD number.
15063.674 before "Fall". After the "Fall update" it is 16299.19

I'll keep my system offline for the next 2 weeks and will keep an eye on what turns up here ... i'm on business branch updates so that should keep that monkey off my back for another 4 months ...

Having the most stable recording system here I ever had and intend to keep it that way. No experiments for me but thanks to all who share what's happening!

This is a work laptop we use for iTunes.. funny thing is I just manually ran Windows update and it said I was up to date.
