There are women on the forums but they don't seem to need the constant attention that the guys crave. They sit silently... plotting.
Regards, John I want to make it clear that I am an Eedjit. I have no direct, or indirect, knowledge of business, the music industry, forum threads or the meaning of life. I know about amps. I was thinking the other day how there were two regulars until maybe a year or so ago, three maybe.. Jubilee, Karen, and Janet. I am not sure there any wimmens now. Jules came back some and Karen may still be around. I could get a sex change but... I don't think I'd like starting my life as a woman already having sagging tatas... Shirley someone here has moobs and could be considered as a "Stand-in" while the wimmens are AWOL. Does a lesbian trapped in a man's body count? HTH, J

You should know that the Coffee House ladies generally arrive armed and are quite competent with items such as guns and chainsaws.

Maybe it's actually 102% but there's only two digits in the counter? It makes sense as long as you don't think about it.

Is that like buying a hard drive and the capacity on the label is always larger than the actual capacity.

No, most of us ARE NOT women! But if you mean "are there any" women, here, the answer is yes. And they know their stuff and are very good at what they do, btw! Isn't English wonderful without grammar in America?

jamesg1213 Got me thinking about this question; http://www.bbc.co.uk/news...tainment-arts-19284058
I really think that what Susan did with Prince's 2 albums was excellent. He has not sounded as good or as vital since those 2 albums despite his ego and fame, in my estimation. Music is just not as dramatic and interesting.

soens Who in their right mind would ever mention frying pans in a thread about women? WHO?? Never mention women and frying pans in the same context. Not a good combination.
Just FYI......women aren't the only ones with frying pans.

Hey there. I was pointed toward this thread after admitting to be a woman. Sorry for being late. I am a female keyboardist and vocalist. I produce electronic music in industrial, trance and dub step stile with orchestral influence, Ethic and Asian vocal loops and instruments and metal guitars. I am used to the fact that I am often one of a few women on the forum. I state that I am female in my signature on most tech forums, because I believe there are definite gender differences in understanding of electronics and general approach. If a guy asks dumb question, the answer would be, “Go figure it out”. As a woman, I have better chance for a patient reply- after all- I deserve an excuse. Lol. I post on Tom’s Hardware helping people with computer problems. I built several computers and sometime I have few ideas to help. There is definitely difference in the knowledge. Women often have lower level of understanding in sciences because they do not plan to become physicists or chemists. This puts them in disadvantage, and therefor sets them toward feminine professions. In real life I am a nurse. I keep my musician personality a secret from my bosses, co-workers, teachers and anybody in the medical field. I read a lot about technology, computers, sound and music production. I have large collection of keyboards, such as Roland Fantom G, Roland V-Synth GT, Yamaha Motif XS8, Korg M3, Korg Triton, Novation Supernova, Waldorf Q, Access Virus A and C. I use Sonar PX3 and Presonus StudioLive 24 for recording. After I built my new computer for recording, I was able to resolve long term letancy issue and finally was able to join the revolution with software synths. I started with Maschine and Komplete Ultimate, and by now have a wide collection of software synths. I have 4 full length releases of my music, but no interest from the recording industry. I do not blame them- I am not being organized well with releasing my music on time. I like to keep my music to myself for years, till it gets outdated and them wondering why the industry moved on to something new. Right now I have about 15 songs that waiting for release and I am being too lazy to record vocals. Actually- it is not that I am lazy- it is that I am not that good, so when I start recording my vocals, I am thinking, “I am suck. Needs more work”, and then I get busy with something else and not practicing. Being in the nursing schools my entire career also is not helpful to my music- takes too much time. I am also a single mother, so it is difficult. Therefore- if I am asking a question, it is not because I don’t like to read a manual- it is because I don’t know where the manual is. Lol. I appreciate the interest to the female musician population. We are definitely existing and can use all kind of help we can get, as it is hard to be woman in the show business with no support. I would think- the industry would find it to be cute that I am one of the few female electronic music producers in the world. But obviously- nobody cares that much. I guess- I need to make better music. Hope my nursing career would not take all the time I have left… Thank you for asking.
