Brandon Ryan [Cakewalk ] Just wanted you all to know that we hear you. Not to stop you from making individual feature requests but wanted you to know you're being heard and that, frankly, you won't get any argument out of me. :-) Thanks for that Brandon. Any chance of us possibly getting anything with this color situation before a new release of Sonar comes out? Funny story for you real fast that I just felt was worth sharing. I lost a bet to an engineer friend of mine. My punishment for losing this bet is I have to use Reaper for a full song. LOL! Though I've used it a few times in the past, this guy is hell bent on trying to convert me over to it. Not gonna happen, but I'll take my medicine like a man this one time. So I grabbed Reap 4 and started messing with it. Of course the stock colors drove me crazy...but going to their site, the themes they have created and the ability for colors and options is just mind-blowing! I had no clue that they offered so much in that area. Now granted, searching for themes and then customizing my own did take a bit of time which is what I know you guys were trying to eliminate when you decided against some of the options we're begging for....but end result for me was a good one. It truly is amazing how much you can alter the looks of that program not to mention, their users live for that stuff and would take a bullet for that program. I found it truly amazing that you could literally create your own look for that program that no one else could have. Yeah it's quite involved, but it's nice to have those additional options. If you don't want to mess with it, you don't, ya know? But if you want to adjust every little thing, you have that ability. Some people really get into stuff like that. As a video gamer, there are times in a game where I'll spend more time customizing something than actually playing the game at first. Though that may seem counter-productive, it's something I really enjoy and I believe quite a few of us feel that way about Sonar. So if there is anyway they can hook us up with these color options before a new release, that would be so awesome! Pull some strings for us Brandon...we got faith in you man! :) -Danny

Thanks Brandon. Was never in doubt that CW would not listen. Would be brilliant if it came back Before X2 though... Come'on X1 "Because your worth it" ;>

Obviously no one in here has any sense of humor. Note the tongue sticking out in my original post. BTW, most displays have brightness and contrast controls on them. Have any of you with light sensitivity issues tried that? Some even let you reverse the colors.

"most displays have brightness and contrast controls on them" I'm sure you must be joking ;-P That would ruin the appearance... or perhaps the "accessibility"... of the other 36 audio programs I use on my DAW... not to mention the well designed interface of all my beautiful looking VSTs and VSTis that appear with SONAR and would be globally effective by the shift. I do think that there are applications that can mange display parameters application by application... but I'm not running one on my DAW. best regards, mike

Quite frankly, I don't understand why they didn't fix the color issue in version X1c. It took them long enough to release it. However, the Sonar Plus program that someone wrote met my needs, but now it can't be used on X1c. Hopefully he's working on it. There were a lot of things that didn't get fixed, like the font sizes and the waste of space in the track view. I hope Cakewalk has a big pile of Lessons Learned that they will refer to on their next release. One more release like this one and they'll be out of business. I've been using Cakewalk products since version 1.1, but I am seriously considering moving to Pro Tools.

Dave, Sonar Plus doesn't affect the color scheme of X1 at all. panup's Sonar Mods will change color schemes or benstat's Sonar Skin Editor will allow you to customize the colors, both of those work with X1c. Sonar Plus is the additional toolbar to run with Sonar, and while it doesn't launch X1c automatically, it is still usable if you launch it separately from sonar X1c.

Now I have my Yellowstone colors and rounded fader knobs back. Much better. One can only wonder why Cakewalk can't or refuses to do what panup was able to do.

I'm definetely with you, daveny5........ ...especially if we consider how easy it was up to previous versions, instead... a real step back with X1....
