Perhaps he's recording a full sized concert orchestra, all close mic'ed?

is he doing the new Steely Dan album? You'd need half of those tracks just for micing the snare

If they do not, then I find a company that will serve me better. sure I pressed the I agree button, but it comes down to me buying updates, plugins and telling people what a good company they are. Or losing that client. dollars. CAPITALISM.

timboe Hi all ! Thanks for the supporting comments. Whilst I genuinely do welcome and value the $10 Expaned offer and the impending X1D update ...... to me, if the " foundation / engine " isnt continually improving the rest is quite secondary. All the features in the world are of little use or value if engine stability is not " rock solid ". FWIW .... I run a 12 core Intel i7 4.2gig DAW with 12 gig ram ..... fully optimized for audio .... with and RME FireFace UC at 88.2 / 24 Bit / 96 Samples [ 3.97 ms real-world latency ] ........the system is rock solid .... and as I use large numbers of Multi-output VST and efx all live inpt monitored, most of my projects run on a CPU load of ~%50 <-> %70. I push my DAW and Sonar very hard ..... probably much harder than the majority of users around here. In my DAW, the same projects loaded in X1C are nowhere near as stable / smooth / glitch free as 8.5.3. Anyway ..... the above is just a long way of explaining why for me any global audio engine improvments in X1D will be much anticipated and very much welcomed [ if there are any ]. All the best to all. Ben Same here! I still use 8.5.3 because it simply works. I'm not sure what possessed the powers that be to beat a new path through DAW wilderness when the old path worked amazingly well.

I know what it was. it was the result of User Requests. A couple of years ago all registered users were asked what the new version should focus on. the overwhelming responses was a total revamp of the GUI and less focus on new shiny plugins. Oh, I do believe I remember such an event. I asked for greater Midi features. I don't recall many wanting a complete redo of pretty much everything like changing keyboard shortcuts that had been in Sonar since I stated using it... Surely they could have made a different GUI without totally destroying everything they had developed over the past 4 or 5 versions. That would my point... Using X1 was like using totally new software, and I've been a Sonar user since version 4. Further, anyone who knows the basics of computer programming knows you can moreless use the same coding but make it look completely different. For example, I can make the "paste" function an Apple Graphic in the top left or a Banana Graphic in the bottom right of the screen. It looks different, but it would function the same. On my system, X1 is far less stable than 8.5.3, and I know I'm not the only one. Surely, Cakewalk (Roland) made major changes under the hood, not just in the GUI. That is the annoying part for me. Don't totally change everything we hold dear while making less stable. Some of us make money from our DAW. We don't have time for silly games just trying to get the bloated software to work. It frankly needs a good laxative.

hueseph X1c Expanded is rock solid on this machine. I'm actually trying the update to X1c from b tonight on my laptop. Since getting it to work on my main tracking computer was an epic failure, I thought i'd give it a spin on my laptop first. Let's hope it goes well. If not, System Restore shall save the day.. err or night. PS. Nice feet? lol

...... 4 days ....... > 320 views ....... no response ......... Hope I'm wong but I can only assume that the answer is probably no ........... if so ...... thats *VERY* disappointing Hi Timboe, Looking at past experience... I wouldn't expect a major change to the audio engine in a point release. That would be a major (welcome) update...
