Agree with you totally. I watched the vids and read the little info that was leaked out back in Nov-Dec of last year and I was liking what I saw, it looked like a fresh total re-skin but with Skylight added along with the other usual upgrade goodies thrown in for good measure.

The almost total change of user funictions is just throwing me way off. I really don't have time to just relearn a DAW at this point, way to many small things (like this) that are just to different from the way I've always done it.

I mean I'm not ****ing about the lack of interface color options or the "lite" stuff. The workflow has really spun me around.

I just tried to move a couple tracks around in the console window...no dice ..a quick search just showed me this is disabled as well...lol

Maybe Sonar X1m or X1r patch will finally get it right

so if i am reading this correct can i not make changges to colors in the preference menu under preferences/colors?..is that part of the menu useless?

I just tried this other day it worked fine.


Can I ask you please how you made the bordering and time scale areas darker? The factory color sets don't do this in the Trial version.

Some colors can be changed via the preferences but not as many as in the old 8.5.

For themes check out Panu's mods.

I found the areas in question can only be changed by importing colors from previous versions like 8.x. This method will affect areas X1 won't change. Kinda strange and maybe Cakewalk will fix this bug in the future (X2 or a patch?). But for now it's a good reason not to delete 8.x from the system.
 
I checked out Sonar Mods but I'm already repainting those files myself. They are obviously encouraging us to do so because a while back a member asked them to make future versions using PNG files, which they are now doing. THANKS CAKEWALK.
 
I am happy they're nice enough to let us do this. Microsoft did the same with their Flight Sim program. With a little hacking people were able to make a whole slough of 3rd party add ons. This generated new interest in the Sim that took it to the level it is today. Doubtful it ever would had MS shut the door on this activity.
 
I'm making a list of "listed" colors that won't change within X1 and will post it when I'm done.
