Is it against Cakewalk policy for someone else to download the X1b patch you need and post it somewhere for you to grab and delete it when you're done downloading?

DJSur - Thanks, but I don't see the point of that.  I've already downloaded the file multiple times.  I think that the file is good.  The reference to "setup files" in the error message is ambiguous.  Don't know whether that refers to the downloaded 'ProducerX1bPatch.exe' or some other local files required for patch installation.

Well, if I used the patch and it worked, and I checksum it, .rar it and send it to you, it would rule out the patch being faulty.

UPDATE - I finally downloaded a version of the X1b patch that worked.  I used Google Chrome.  It installed cleanly, no problems.

I guess this means that the first three downloads were corrupted somewhere along the way, which is disappointing.  Maybe I'll talk to my ISP tech support people about it and get their opinion.

Thanks to everyone that offered suggestions.
