Do any of you think it is lower latency than 8.5.3 or probably equal ??? (either way still happy - so I hope this can be in a happy thread!)

There's a bug that's been in Sonar for the past few versions that's gone now. When working in the piano roll view, if you were deleting an extra note that was close to another, it would erase parts of the surrounding notes. No so in X1b!!!! It works flawlessly now.

Afterinstalling X1b this is the first time X1 has run longer than about 10 minutes. Yay!. 1 crash so far. Playing back, stopped play, changed focus and SONAR disappeared. haven't been able to repeat so far. When I change focus to another window the Control Bar still disappears like it has since X1 first released. Mixed feelings. Certainly better than before whether that will be good enough I don't know. Lot's more experiments to do.

deswind, I did not uninstall 8.5.3 yet, I always leave the old version on for a while. If anything I have seen improved performance with my lynx card, not by much, but an improvement none the less. I am using the regular PCI version, not the express, if that makes any difference. You have updated the firmware and software from lynx right? G

Since yesterday on my win XP 32bit and win 7 64bit, running 48 tracks audio, 12 midi tracks. Ozone 4 and Alloy and V-Vocal, melodyne, pro channel, and many other effects scattered through out the mix. Looped flawlessly 4 hours on both machines, using only 2 gig of ram on either machine. Track automation for volume and panning were on all channels. Even "beatscape" did not glitch! This was a simple loop test, I did not do major editing of tweaking parameters in real time. But audio playback and sync were excellent and over the 4 hour loop session, flawless operation on both Xp 32bit and win 7 64bit. I also used Ben`s and Panup`s tools. ( very grateful to both! ) I feel the audio engine`s stability is top notch. I did some real time editing till late into the night, no issues! I favor those "narrow strips". With a large mix, it is a must have. I never tried screen sets till last night, love em now! I am overall quite pleased with things, thanks to everyone`s input here. Cakewalk has been listening. As always, I would have like more fixes, but this is a wonderful patch update. X1b mods are online only hours after X1b patch... no deal needed :) I knew if I opened up this thread, I could find my happy thought. Now, I can go on with my day.

I guess I will take the plunge soon for X1B, though I wish I could do it all in one download. Best, AB

So far, so good... Tested X1b on a couple monster projects that are plug-in city and no crashes... yet. BitBridge would barf at random through X1 & X1a. Haven't gotten into the MIDI editing yet where I do about half my work. Hopefully all's well there, also. Happy so far.

For me outside the few bugs I found which were minimal in their impact I don't see a huge difference in the B patch and the A patch. I do like the redone CV narrow strips. But I wasn't one that had any real problems as it was. Not that I don't want the new patch. I was hoping for some customization ability and perhaps a new feature but I'll take what I am given here. I think CW did a great job on this patch.
