All is well here. Mainly audio with a couple midi tracks thrown in for good measure, but no hiccups with lots of fun bells and whistles running.

I'm mostly happy: Pros: It's stable Workflow generally much improved (with some rough spots) Negatives: I think I've personally submitted at least 5 (if not more) bugs to Cakewalk with small bits of functionality not working. Mostly relating to Snap, PRV, Key Bindings, etc.

I m happy now after the quick fix. Quite stable. It would only crash if I use certain 32bit vst. The solution is to delete those problamatic 32 bit vst.

Out of all the years I have used cakewalk (pro audio) and Sonar this by far has been the best upgrade for me. I am really happy with it. I usually don't upgrade right away, but this time I am glad I did.

Count me happy. No stability problems. There are parts to the SmartTool enhancements that are so transparent now that I have caught myself giggling (yes giggling!) Very well thought out upgrade. +1 to the Cakewalk development team. Oddly, I think track lanes are an improvement over layers, but I find my self questioning the increased real estate that they take up. But that is a pretty niggling (yes niggling!) criticism. X2 happened to land while I'm in a mixing phase - a little editing, but mostly importing X1 projects that were done except for mixes. So, I'm REAL happy because of 1) Auto-Zoom (I love that feature), and 2) automation lanes. Give how much fader movement I do, that's huge for me. As to stability, I had two crashes when I opened a pro channel module in console view while a project was playing, but couldn't repeat the crash. The Quick Fix seems to have fixed that. I did have one freeze since doing the Quick Fix caused by clicking on the Master module (again, while the file was playing). But I've logged a lot of hours with only these incidents, so I'm not finding the stability problematic.

Very stable. Very happy. The jump from the 8.5 GUI to X2's has been HUGE for my workflow. It's like they read my mind concerning dealing with the "clutter" of multiple windows and resizing constantly... and fixed EVERYTHING. Miguelito... I have also found my self actually giggling... Is there any change or improvement in how X2 handles 32bit plugins, or is it the same as X1? Is the handling of 32bit plugins any WORSE in X2? How does J-Bridge work in X2, who is actually using it in X2? Many thanks. -G&G

I'm a fanboi, even though I hate that term, especially when it is spelt like that. I am loving the whole X2 concept, the GUI, Lanes, PC. My 22 track MIDI Soft Synth only test track is going strong and I am totally happy with X2 in that area. I've spent the last couple of days concentrating on recording Audio and utilising TH2 on my guitar. That test project has a MIDI drum folder with the usual multi-tracks. On top of that I've got four audio tracks, each with an instance of TH2. For some reason my CPU core usage has gone a bit weird. The core spread in my MIDI only test project is as expected, with my first core running at arounf 50% and the other 7 at 30%. My new, and quite small audio test project has the first core running at 50% (already) with the remaining 7 hardly reaching 5%. So I don't know what is going on there. Anyway, I should probably have not mentioned that here, but there you have it. I suppose that the bottom line, at this moment in time, is I'm sort of happy in some areas and not so happy in others.

I had a couple of crashes prior to the Quickfix - nothing since. I've got a few minor graphics related problems, but certainly no show stoppers On a scale of 1 to 10, I reckon it's about a 9 at the moment.

Happy in the main, need to learn the revised keyboard shortcuts but getting there. Had a couple of crashes two which self reported and two I have had to manually report. It should be said the crashes all happened with third party 32bit freeware soft-synths in unfinished X1 and 8.5.3 projects. Following on from Noel's post will apply the quick fix today.

It hasn't been particularly stable for me, but I'm still happy with it. For some reason, it just feels like everything is coming together in a way it hasn't before, and I'm actually having fun with it instead of fighting with it. I just checked - can't believe I've been a Cakewalker since Cakewalk Pro 1, produced by Twelve Tone Systems sometime in the previous century!! Anyway, back to X2 - being just a hobbyist helps, no doubt, since there's no pressure to produce anything. The crashes I've had would probably put me in the "unhappy" column if I was actually depending on it as a tool to make a living. But then, if I were depending on it, I would have waited until things settled down before making the change.

I'm not one to push the envelope, so not a good example...but put me on the happy side. I like the Breverb and TH2 plugins a lot. The piano view and smart tools is a give and take for me, I'm adjusting. I wish staff view was better as I really like looking at a score while orchestrating/arranging. I have not had a project yet that I could take advantange of auto lanes. I'm looking forward to that.

I've had but a single issue with X2: When dragging a drum loop into a track (via the Browser) and hitting play... I lost control over the transport. Couldn't do anything to stop it... (had to shut down the Sonarpdr.exe) Haven't been able to reproduce the behavior... Otherwise, X2 has been great. Love all the small improvements to workflow. X2 kinda reminds me of Win7 after Vista Vista was pretty solid after SP2. Win7 was a nice refinement on Vista SP2.

Overall a good experience better than X1. I love the lanes and the auto focus. I have had crashes but it has been when I have the track going and inserting a synth. Probably not smart.
