X3 Producer ROCKS!

I have just bought and DLed X3 Producer and have run a few projects through it. No issues or problems. I have a lot to catch up on but so far so good.

It appears that the click on the CV while floating on the second monitor crash is gone. The install went well. No problems there either. I can't be sure but it seems to migrate the settings from X2a better. I have done no tweaking to the preferences. This was completely plug and play.

First impression is that those that have noticed a smoother display may be on to something. My system is unchanged running Windows 8 Pro 64 bit.

The above crash was the only problem I had with X2.

CW has done a great job.

More later as I explorer this version.

Yay a john thread!

Gotta add my plus one.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Hi John,

I am enjoying it too except for a similar error I am getting regarding having CL in the master bus (and on another track) with CV on a secondary monitor. If I use CV to move between tracks and back to the Master bus. I get a consistent crash. Sent in the report to CW for thier pleasure.  This happened also in X2a. Can you confirm with your setup.  I tested this with a new project. If CL is not there in the Master... No crash. Ozone 5 does the same thing.Thanks.

So far I have run a bunch of projects through X3 and no issues at all. Now I am sure it is smoother and snappier than X2. X2a was OK but X3 is what I have been waiting for.

The only thing I am not pleased with is the icon for X3. Grey is OK but its not as nice as the X2 icon. Petty I know but I have to find something to gripe about.

You took a day longer than I did to cave into temptation.   Congrats.

Yeah...  I'm finding X3 to be nothing but a great experience so far, though "so far" has only been one day.  And knowing that there's an update currently in progress just one week in (even though the download was already X3a) certainly bodes well from a maintenance aspect.

I put that into a feature request about the EQ. Never in my wildest dreams did I think they would do it. It is a show stopper in how well it works.

I agree, I really like X3 so far! I also like the new vsts as well. I threw out a lot of crap as soon as I had it all installed. ARA integration, I seriously think that is one of the greatest things to ever be implemented. I'm doing an all day and night session tomorrow, next week I'll be working with video. Can't wait to see how it performs!

Nice...

I'd like to see that "flyout" feature in all the ProChannel modules in order to go from the the compact size (which is fine when you want to do a quick check) to a larger size window (which would allow for a more informative and easier-to-use visual interface when you need to focus more on that effect).

I'm aslo enjoying X3a so far.  I basically just decided to go ahead and "use it" as part of my normal business, so rather than focus on specific features I am getting a feel for it in my present day real-world use.

This is good to hear. I have been holding off but did the purchase and D/L two nights ago. Hope to get it installed tomorrow afternoon.

Looking forward to the new QCEQ fly out and the ARA implementation for Melodyne (I've got editor). After that I'm interested in the VST3 implementation and I can't wait to see if I can't get some better colors than what I've seen in the promos.

I have been drooling over X3 ever since I saw that they released the new version on facebook. I had some major computer problems last weekend mostly software related. I redid the hard drive and reinstalled windows 7 ultimate.

a few days ago I took the plunge and upgraded to X3 professional. I got the bulk of it installed and there is no more X2 on my machine although I did install R-mix. Now I am working on third party plugs like Ozone 5, Melda and TH2 full version.

There are a lot of older plugins I will not use anymore. I see the nomad plugs taking their place. This version seems much more complete and stable. I have not had the time to run tests yet but I am looking forward to what X3 has to offer. I am very excited to see the direction cakewalk is headed.
