Think yourself lucky most of my issues get rejected, for good reason mostly... i.e. : http://forum.cakewalk.com/As-intended-DX-plugins-mystery-m2948497.aspx I'm sure there's a good reason for this one and anyway it's pretty trivial. I had one issue everybody could reproduce and it got rejected as "intended", and that was playing back effects on a clip, rewinding the timeline to the beginning, and then hitting play (and the effects continued from the previous playback (audio buffer was no flushed)).... like huh??? Really, intended for timelords perhaps? Anyways I've been logging issues since X1, I think maybe I had two issues fixed... Fingers crossed anyways.. I sense a real breakthrough a coming although it might not be here yet fully and things might not go as fast as we like, I'm appreciating Cake more and more nowadays.

Anderton That Keurig coffee maker was a great investment
If you like spending more for your coffee.
Not if you buy it - if you invested in it. Really big difference!
Invest in the stocks or the Keurig itself? Who cares about the stocks for the Keurig. I would invest in the K-cups stocks. It's amazing how much people spend on them. You pay roughly 120 percent more for the coffee than the old way. That doesn't even count the damage to the environment the K-cups pose. Besides, all they do is make coffee and coffee is pretty yuck. I know you can make hot chocolate and tea with the Keurig but they are used to make coffee. That makes them useless. ;-) The idea is cool and I hope you enjoy your coffee.

Andrew Rossa [Cakewalk] It's true. SONAR X3d will be available next week. It was mentioned in the newsletter that went out today. SONAR X3 customers will be getting a newsletter tomorrow because we are including some free goodies for Session Drummer 3 as part of Drum Month.
Are there two newsletters, one today and one tomorrow? I still don't seem to be getting them after signing up for them on the Cakewalk website some time ago. Suggestions?

My guess is CW once again fixes all some the fluffy easy to fix bugs that they introduced in the previous release, everyone (including CW) pats them on the back for a job well done, but CW once again passes on the old and tired bugs that no developer at CW is capable of figuring out. I might be wrong but unless something at CW changed in the last 5 years, that has been the typical MO.

Way to rain on the good vibe parade Silktone. From reading the fixes in the c patch they did a lot of work getting rid of "old" bugs. Not to mention all the other dexes in the other patches. Really, wouldn't it be nice if you waited for the patch to come out before condemning it?

Actually I stopped using this "professional" DAW about two years ago due to these issues. Believe it or not I would prefer to use Sonar as opposed to another DAW because I've been using "Twelve Tone" software for over 20 years now, except for the last two years when I just got tired of these issues. Since I did invest a lot of money into Sonar by endlessly paying for upgrades based on empty promises that these issues would be fixed, I think I have a right to bring these issues up in the hope someone at CW can figure these bugs out and fix them. This thread is about a new release and bugs fixed in it, right? So I can't bring this issue up? I know I know, I'm supposed to give high-fives just like everybody else around here, sorry...

To those people complaining about my posts, I have a serious question for you... Everyone has some set of Sonar bugs that they wish could get fixed. In most cases they are just annoyances and there are ways to work around them. But now imagine there are a few bugs in Sonar that absolutely prevents you from using it altogether, what would you say? Nothing? Now imagine that goes on for 5 years. Now what would you say?

Agreed accept for the part about both having working DAWs. Sonar is not in a functional state for me right now, hence why I have been using a different DAW for the last two years. Do you realize how many releases and patches has come and gone since I initially reported this issue to CW 5 years ago (and more than 20,000 reports ago)? I believe the number of releases/patches is somewhere between 20 and 30 right now. It really is hard to stay positive given this, especially when I realize that in all that time of working with CW on this issue, it turns out I was pretty much just talking to myself. EDIT: And believe me, I am keeping my fingers crossed that this issue gets fixed. I'd much rather be using Sonar than complaining about it. I'm hoping for a miracle here, especially now that I've been told that Ryan has done wonders in the past for getting things resolved. Just trying not to get my hopes up to an unrealistic level. Hoping for the best but expecting the usual.

Silkwood, I am genuinely curious about which bugs would TOTALLY prevent you from using Sonar? If you don't mind me saying it all sounds a bit dramatic. I am genuinely prepared to be enlightened. However, if I ever encountered such a situation, I would not keep paying for upgrades for years without checking that whatever 'showstopper' bug or bugs were resolved before shelling out.... Garry, this issue has been rehashed endlessly (if you want to see the gory details, read this thread). The short version is that if you rely on VSTi plugins that send MIDI events out, you will get crosstalk into other tracks when you record on them (say from an external MIDI controller). In addition, if you have more than 1 VSTi sending MIDI events out, Sonar will crash. There are no workarounds for these two issues. I absolutely rely on more than one VSTi sending MIDI events out, and since Sonar can't handle this I'm forced to use another DAW that can.
