I'm going to follow Yoropal's lead on this one. He hasn't steered me wrong yet. I've already got ez Keys. If I get anything I need to have a world class piano sound.

The singer comes in the expanded upgrade, along with a marching band and a fiddle.

Carl, are you a beta tester? I mean since you're recommending it I'm assuming you've got some hands on with it. How does it sound on your studio monitors? I did notice on the website that it's characterized as having a warm tone. I didn't hear that. The demo video sounds brittle and unpiano like here. If that's a close approximation to the actual release, I think I'll have to stick with Ivory II.

Anything played through youtube has that, "compressed/distorted," sound like that.  Its terrible what youtube does to music, as compared with a CD and a beautiful hi-fi speaker setup.

That said..  I'm not sure what the product is..  Did they sample digital pianos?  Weird..  or it is some sort of physical modelling of digital pianos?  Still weird..  Or have they created three brand new, "digital pianos." Not such a bad idea, imho..

However, if they sampled real pianos..  mmm..  they didn't do a bad job.  sounds ok here that's all...   does it sound so much better than the free version of, "true pianos," found in Sonar X1..  maybe..  it just might.  I quite liked the sound.

Youtube definitely sucks for audio though..

    too many lasers...

It's probably worthwhile to actually wait and see what the final product will sound and be like before qualifying whether or not it's going to be desirable.

Having Addictive Drums, I must say that ... I like their approach and the quality of sound, and perhaps I'll also find that this new software will be equally good. I've already made good use of EZ keys and been able to develop more than one song using it
    .
I'll be watching for more news about this.

No, I'm not a beta tester for this. I was looking for ADx64 & saw this on their site. When I post a link or news on a new product or upcoming release it doesn't necessarily mean I recommend it.

I plan on trying the demo. I'll decide then if it's anything I need or like. With pianos it's how well they sit or cut through in a mix that will be a deciding factor, not how it sounds based on a commercial type video.

This is a great plug in. I have been beta testing since may. If anyone wants a good representation of the sound I would be happy to post a quick audio demo to soundcloud. I am hoping to see it for $100 and maybe $50 for Addictive Drums owners but i really like this plug in. Anything more than $100 for a crossgrade and I may say forget it.

That would be nice but both sets are very nice as well. From my understanding AD2 is on the to do list but its been all hands on deck for AK for months. It really is a great plug in that I think more people should check out. As I am sure most people know I am very hard on companies about putting out the best product possible and if they do not I have no problem telling them that. AK is a great plug in. Its worth $300 easy but the fact that we already have a ton of this stuff already out there is why I think $100 is a better price.

Thanks for this pic.  That is a very nice GUI.  Keep us posted on this product and let us know when it comes to market and at what price.  I just bought SampleTekks Black and their White Grand; so I am not really in the market for another piano, but this does look nice--again I really like the GUI.  I guess the price will determine whether or not I buy it.

This product does not seem to follow in the footsteps of AD, having no midi files to drop in [like EZ Keys], but it is quite simply instead a sample based piano VST.

Am I correctly understanding the nature of what this software will be?

AK will have midi files in it but they are not in the beta. As for it not following suit with AD I totally disagree but it really depends on your own needs. I do not need midi drumloops at all for example. So for me they are extremely similar.

Alright, it looks more like it is going to be similar to what AD is in many respects, according to your observations in testing. I'll probably find this very interesting to see once its been released. I like the sound of it, anyhow.

Do you have to create an account?  To download the piano?

Do they ask you to..  A.  Fill out a huge form with your country? B. Email? C. Forum name? D. First name? E. Last name? F. entire street address?

    G. a password, H. confirm it?

Or do they just let you download the piano automatically, as its only got 49 keys...

I will totally download the piano, and install it..  check it out, and whatever..   but I am really tired of forms..   So..  erm?  Do you have to fill one out for the free version?

Credit is given to Per Larsson at Sampletekk for the recordings.
Is there an old Sampletekk piano inside here or have he done the sampling of another steiny D?
