My list:)
No dead space in Track view window.

New projects, new tracks and new recording looped tracks: The [R] and the [FX racks] need to be [OFF] Or user options to setup in Preferences.

The ability to completely remove/shut off the automation view options from the track view window.

The audio meter [db range] should be set by user as a permanent pre-project setting by user in Preferences.

Preferences [record] [Loop Recording] should be a pre-project setting that will default where the user wants it. (Like it was with past versions.)

[Bypass] screen resolution so larger displays can fit more channel strips and tracks on the screen. [Narrow-er] :)

The ability to separate the Console Strip view from the Buss view to use with multi displays.

Make the primary output level strip "thinner then narrow-er" :) (One slider when locked with audio meter)

Theme:
Combined color options of Color track strips of Mercury with the Dark options of Tungsten. A few levels from Light – Dark defaults to choose from.

Hay look,
Somethings are not locked in stone... lol 3/18/2019

i guess all of the above, it will keep everyone happy , although for me stability and performance are great as is, better than it has ever been.

i wouldn't mind for the start screen to have the ability to have a little snippet of the project/song play when you hover your mouse over/click on or whatever, on a project in the start screen list, it would make identifying the project at hand much easier than just a thumbnail image if you are like me and have a habit of naming songs/projects with such descriptive titles as 'song 1', 'song 2', 'idea 1', 'idea 2' etc. not really a necessity, just a convenience i guess, and probably something i could remedy by other means, but still for me it would be nice.

otherwise just keep on trucking, i get closer and closer to returning to using sonar as my main daw, just not there yet.

oh . . . something like scratch pads and arranger tracks would also be good, i know there are work arounds, but they are work around's and for me not ideal, an 'actual' feature would be nice

Three big ones for me:
1. The Lennon/McCartney fix your crappy song button
2. The Freddy Mercury fix your crappy voice button
3. The Bob Ludwig fix your crappy recording button into a recording masterpiece

These would make 2017 my most successful year.

Great video support

Chord Track

Plugin that allow you to play a note and it plays a defined chord.  Plugin I've used for this has been buggy when played along with a fancy arpegiator program, so it would be nice to have something built in that does the same...and should be something pretty easy to put together.

Just an informal poll. Of course if you want results The Bakery is probably the place to go.

Ability to insert/delete holes even with varying tempos and time signature with non-contiguous MIDI or AUDIO clips.

Yes. All I want for Xmas is this.

For 2017 I want an Arranger tool. The ability to slip and slide sections around with wreckless abandon. And ease.

Another vote for the "1) Delete hole safely in a complex project."

If I'm really to dream: I would like to never again hear from my Pro Tools friends brag about how quickly they can tighten EVERYTHING up in Elastic Audio, because..magically...Audio Snap finally becomes just as robust, smart, easy and good sounding.

Stability. There are too many weird little breaks to the system. Please don't go adding things until I can do an entire record without crashing or having to restart Sonar.
The most annoying one right now is changes a mix makes all output options disappear on export requiring restarting Sonar.

I used to own the "The Lennon/McCartney fix your crappy song button" plugin . . . but I could only get it to work by running it through my microwave oven, and dial it back to about 1967 . . . then when I brought it back to 2016, Windows 10 wouldn't run it, a window popped up saying something about the plugin's style feature being outdated . . . I sent a problem report to Cakewalk back in 1970, but then the band split up, and I'm still waiting for the email to arrive.

Any bug fixes. We really need it.

It may seem strange, but...
Impulse reverb plugin such as Rematrix Solo or old good Perfect Space, but 64bit. Not for a ProChannel. Just simple impulse loader.

I'd like the ability to copy a track from one project, with its effects bin and audio or midi clips included, and paste it to another open project.  Alternatively a way to save a track with effects and takes intact, and then load/import that track in a different project.

No. We just lost all hope because it's very clear the company doesn't think it's a priority and probably never will.
In the meantime we got to make do with cubase and weep.

Actually I'd forgotten about something I have wanted from way back, other than bug fixes:

Group multiple unrelated instruments and be able to control them from a single midi track. In my case, primarily for pad-making but so many uses for this.

Fireface UCX, i7-6700K, 64GB RAM, 500GB M.2 system drive, 4 x 7200RPM data drives, GTX970, Win 10 Pro. Sonar Platinum.

Fix Delete Hole. Thanks.
