Has no one mentioned NagBap yet?

Trouble is like it or not NagBap is good at what it does.

Rather is that, NagBap is what NagBap does?

Usually any random amount of time after the drummer comes in.

I'm just grateful I shall never be nagged by Bapu ever again.

To be gently 'nug' is a much more agreeable proposition.

That would be useful for me as I produce many deplorable scores.

I threw out some fruit juices (3 opened boxes in fact!) this morning that was only two weeks past the expiry date and already started to smell like some sort of old wine. I was very disappointed.

I do LOVE J Breebaart plugins, and would pay good money for them if they weren't so very free! :O)

I just checked out this site and it seems like the only free one's they have are the IsoneSurround & TimeMachine. Are there any others or other sites that have these J. Breebaart plugs?

Wow, I'll have to eat my words and open my wallet! :O) I have about 10 free ones of the previous version - Ferox being one of my favourites. It used to be very good - I'm sure it's even better now.

To be honest Mesh, I haven't long changed PC's so I haven't scanned quite a lot back into SONAR yet.

But I have used the JB plugs, and the excellent 'Antress' series, a lot in the past.

Re:Your worst plug in purchases? 2011/06/02 19:06:06 (permalink)
The worst plug I ever bought was the loudness maximizer from UAD. It's nearly identical to Boost 11 and just seems to get nasty sounding in a bad way when you jump on it a bit.

As for the Waves stuff, I've spent so much money on them through the years, the only disappointment with them has been their support and how things that don't work, never get fixed in the version you paid for. You always have to upgrade to something that fixes it all and to me, this is horribly unfair. I sincerely feel that software should never be unfinished to where it costs someone more money to have a working version. Waves will never see a cent from me for the rest of my life. I figure they owe me about 7k right now from being ripped off by them over the years. Dongles, HASP Key drivers, iLoks...and the worst support known to man hands down. Maybe I'll return the favor. :)

When will these companies get a clue that they could make more money selling things cheaper if they stopped spending so much in protection gizmo's? People are going to hack them...accept it and stop punishing those that pay for your stuff and focus that money you spend on protection towards better products, better support and cheaper prices.

Anyway, sorry for the rant...that company just annoys me...and you can include Steinberg too. They do the same crap. Charge you for something, don't fix it until the upgrade. I just really think that's wrong on all counts. Wave Lab 5 never worked right for me. I buy 6, it has a few issues, then they want to sell me 7 that has all the fixes. I stuck with 6, figured out my issues on my own with a few work-arounds and they can have 7.

Space, I too was let down by the TC Electronics plugs. Like really let down man. Compared to their hardware gear, they should be ashamed of themselves. This definitely was a purchase that annoyed me for quite some time.

Best purchase for me though was the UAD stuff. They really have some incredible plugs that can make a huge difference in the fidelity of your audio. Some of them are a bit hyped...like the Manley Massive Passive. It's a good EQ, but it's a *different* type of eq. It's not something you'd want to throw on everything and to me isn't what people make it out to be. I was a bit let down with this one too, but knew what to expect because I had owned the real one. It's incredibly close to that...and can definitely help you out in certain situations.

Just about all the other stuff from them is fantastic and I'd be lost without the NEVE stuff as well as some of the Precision stuff. The EMT 250 and Studer 800 are must have's for any recording engineer in my opinion. :)

I am sorry you guys are disappointed in the TC electronics plugs. I dont know about the dynamics and fx ones but I own their vocal processing plug in, the Voice Modeler, Harmony 4 and Intonation plugs and must say they work on the par as far as their hardware boxes . I have plenty of the hardware line; Quintet, Voice Works, Voice One, Voice Live, and Voice Live touch, and perhaps not as flexible as the boxes, the algorithms seem to be the same in SW and HW
I have a C300 compressor and it is more flexible than the compressor that came in the included plugs with my Element, but the CLIB plug in is a mojo working fool..

Now I am rankled that they no longer support the powercore line of hardware

Now I think the East West stuff was the most frustrating , if that equates to the "worst:
Haphazard tech support, hinky play engine, mixed bag of libraries ..

I would take IKs tiny GUI over the play engine
