Timeking, you never were using ASIO. You've been using WDM all along. Forget ASIO4All, get the newest ASIO driver for your interface and give it another try. You might still find that WDM does work better, but it's also possible that ASIO will do a better job. It depends on the vendor's competence with one versus the other.

ASIO4All is a thin wrapper and actually quite efficient, adding only a miniscule amount of overhead. More likely the dramatic difference was, as suggested by Mr. Bone above, the result of smaller buffers.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

That 5.3 must be a hardware limit, since I got 5.3 with the WDM driver.
Check the MAudio control panel - that's where you can set the buffer size. This is what affects your latency setting. Is it set to 256 samples? Change it to 128 (then reload SONAR) and you'll see your latency is halved.

- Intel i7 3770K 3.5GHz
- Windows 10 Pro - 64 bit
- Cakewalk by BandLab x64
- Reaper x64
- 16GB RAM
- Asus P8z77-V mobo - using the integrated Intel graphic card (HD4000)
- MOTU Ultralite AVB audio interface
I usually use ASIO set at 64 or 128 samples
er - that's it I think...
