You have to trace the signal path. You have a mono track recorded. You should be able to pan it left or right. Try monitoring it with headphones.

Hey Sharpdion- After importing several tracks from someone elses project recently I came across the same panning problem with 1 track. The track was mono, all of the options and interleave were set normally. I have never run across this before and it was only within 1 track in the project. (Project contained approximately 15 tracks) The only thing I could do was bounce it down to a "new track" then I could pan it. It was odd and I am sure it was not user error.

Assuming I didn't miss something ... It seems from the above, that the initiating problem was solved, but exactly what solved it was not identified. In other words, it is not clear what made the track pannable followiing some [unknown] change. I am having the same problem. I have a stereo track [guitar] that I can pan L or R. I have a vocal track that was recorded in "stereo" - it does not pan. I have converted that track to mono, and ... it does not pan. I have converted it back to stereo, and ... you guessed it ... does not pan. The stereo interleave on both is 'on' [set to stereo]. If I export the track, it plays in stereo [both channels lit], and if I import that resaved stereo track, it will not pan. There are two waveforms in both the working and non-working tracks. The non-working track's meter only shows one side being output. Both panable and non-pannable tracks output is set to "Master", which is stereo.

After further experimentation, it seems the only way to fix (as was noted above) is to InsertNewAudioTrack, copy contents of the non-pannable track to the new audio track, then it is pannable. Why? Is this a bug?

I am having a similar problem. I am using SonarX1 producer with Presonus Studio Live 16.4.2 (Windows 7). I can hear panning when I use the "Monitor" mix from the board, but when I try to listen using my Master out there is no panning. In Sonar it shows that my Master output is only a single blue fader. I keep thinking there must be a problem with my Presonus Universal Audio controller (see the attached picture). Can someone help?

Did you notice the pan control on the track and the one on the buss? They looked centered to me. The buss you show is the main out not a full buss. To pan with the main out you need to unlock the faders and adjust one or the other but this should not be done because it will effect the entire mix.

That was a muted track. The one above was panned hard right. I have attempted to use the pan controls on each track, in different mixes, with no result (while listening to my Main out through the board). I can hear my panning work when I am listening through a monitor mix but the Main mix out doesn't work (I am using two sets of monitors btw. One is Main, one is monitor). p.s. - For some reason, my Output driver only shows "StudioLive2TrackInL" as the out. I'm thinking this might be the problem? No sure.

Then it sounds like you have a hardware routing problem. I would check how the Studio Live is set up.

It now seems that I am caught in the middle of a blame game. Presonus is blaming Sonar. Sonar is blaming Presonus. Wow. The Presonus Tech Support team says there must be something set wrong in Sonar but I am hearing (here and elsewhere) that it is something in the Presonus software. Help! LOL. p.s. - I seriously don't even care if this is MY fault. I just want it fixed so I can keep doing what I love!

I just spend an hour on the phone with Presonus and they cannot fix the problem. They believe the problem is in Sonar and don't know what to do. Any help? UPDATE: We fixed it! Presonus WAS the problem. We had to reset the WDM Outputs in the Universal Audio control (by just moving them from track 17/18 to 1/2 and then back), and that did it. The Sonar guys said Presonus works great but sometimes has weird quirks with PC.

Well I know pan works within X1. It always has. I also know that you said "I can hear my panning work when I am listening through a monitor mix". This would lead me to think that somehow its not working within the mixer. Perhaps we need to know the routing of the monitor mix than the routing of the main mix to compare them. The more detail the better.
