+1 Artsoul earlier who suggested Ikea, I have a very sturdy Ikea office desk that is ready and waiting for the VS700C. I also built myself a 12" deep by 5" high by 63" wide (Ikea desk is 63" wide) support shelf for acoustic panels, twin Dell monitors, and Fostex personal monitors, with space below for Samson monitor controls and cables. Will post a pic later when the VS-700C arrives (and after I have cleaned up the paperwork mess). I will install PC keyboard underneath desk where I can also hide the mouse to force me to use the control surface.)

eBlue... Toys, toys, toys...ain't it great. You've got a very nice setup! I know some others who have used IKEA desks and are pretty pleased. The other setups shown in this thread look nice also. Some are blessed with the talent to build custom; not me, I had to buy my desk. Notice you have what looks like a Universal Audio LA-610 tube preamp/compressor; very nice - how do you like it? Almost got one but a friend of mine in the Nashville recording business highly recommended a Great River MP-2NV preamp to me. I'm extremely happy with it so far; has loads of character when I want it. The V-700R gives me the clean pre's. I posted my setup some time ago in another thread. Since then I've finished the acoustic treatment and added some other items. Working on the reworking tracking room at the present and hope to finish it in the near future when things slow down a little. If I get a chance, I'll post some pics of the acoustic treatment; that stuff ain't cheap, is it? Later...

What's that hanging in the ceiling of your vocal booth? It doesn't look like foam. Why didn't you just hang some foam on the ceiling around the light fixture?

swizzle, I've only had the LA-610 a few weeks. Haven't actually recorded any real artists with it yet. From my rough testing it sounds great and is very versatile. I have some projects starting up soon. I'm really looking forward to putting it thru its paces. I'll let you know how it goes. Craig, That actually IS the same foam hanging on the ceiling that's on the other walls ...I think what's throwing you off is the reflection of the foam off the glass that covers the light fixture. That white strip is actually the cutout for the light and indicates the actual ceiling line. -e.B

Crg Nice workstation Clada! When are you going to install the broadcast tower? It looks like a radio station. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I know Craig, but as i'm coming out of the radioworld and producing commercials, promo's and jingles, i bought the studio furniture from a local radio station and modified it to my needs. As you can see in the pictures i have a recording area, but for fast working i've also put a mike in my control room, also easy for talkback ;-)

It's been a while since i've been here and noticed that my previous pictures are gone so i'm reposting them in the same post with some newer material, and yes again i've rebuild my studio with a new workstation that fits my needs. This is the first picture of me when i was discovering and trying out the vs700 system back at the studio were i worked in 2009 I was impressed and installed the same system in my own homestudio While i was working in this homestudio we were building our new home, so after the move, i had to find a solution for the studiointerior that i left behind in my old house that i sold. I've found a solution as a friend of me told me that there was a broadcastdesk for sale at a radiostation where i worked some years ago, i've remodelled the desk to my needs and worked for about a year in this configuration. After a year working in broadcast style it was about time to do things right, i' am working more than 8 hours a day in this room, so it needed to be lighter and more functional, i looked at several workstations from argosy and others but did not really found what i liked, after some brainstorming with a studiofriend we decided to do it ourselfs, and hey, it worked out perfect ! It took us 2 weeks for building this awesome desk. Today, after working the desk for a few months, we again altered some things, but not at the desk, i've added a 32inch led screen for video, replaced the KRK's with Genelecs and put in a central station for monitor control AND talkback system for the voicebooth as the cakewalk guys forget a talkback. I will up some new pictures soon. Let me know what you guys think !

This is great... thanks so much for the share and time it took. Do you have the front AUX of the 700R patched or don't use it? It doesn't appear accessible with the surface dropped into the desk like it is si I'm curious. Cheers!

I'm making a few changes tho. In my mock-up, the racks seemed too far away, so i'm lowering them and bringing them about 1.5 ft closer. I'd like any input u ppl have.
