dead air at the end of the song

Why do I have so much dead air after my songs end once I export them to audio? Does it even matter when I drag the track's empty space in the clips pane all the way to left to the end of the song? I've searched the help file, but no avail. I end up with one minute of music and four extra minutes of dead air attached.

Hey, my problem is when I don't plan exactly right, or change my plan, I may get dead space at the beginning of the song- several seconds as unused measures slide by. How can I conveniently get rid of that? Can I slide all the tracks to the left somehow? Thanks.

just trim as mentiond before.the problem ive had with trimming the beginning of a track(if your trimming more than one track in the same project) is that you need to try to trim back to the EXACT same point on all tracks. select "apply trimming"then drag and drop your clips back to the beginning of the clips pane.if your tracks dont sync up after moving them, you will have to "slide" one or more tracks till they sync up again.you can also "bounce" all tracks to one track and trim it then. do this only after your donemixing/editing your tracks though.
