Free update for VS-700 owners

Cakewalk announces a special promotion for SONAR customers!

Purchase or upgrade to SONAR 8 Producer or SONAR 8 Studio at any participating music & sound retailer worldwide or Cakewalk.com starting July 1st 2009, and you'll receive the next feature-rich update to SONAR as a FREE download when released later this year. Cakewalk will be making the free download available to anyone who has purchased SONAR V-Studio 700 as well, starting from the product's initial release in January.

    I know we get the 8.5 upgrade for free as Vstudio purchasers, but I also want the iZotope RX. Is there a discount code or something so that we can still take advantage of that bundle? $100 off or something looks about right??

    No...you can download now... you must have purchased VS700 after 1-1-2009

    However, it's not working for my (trying to get DVDs also) so I'm on hold with 888.cakewalk

    Ok.. off hold now.
    First I had to educate the fellow that the free 8.5 upgrade was ALSO for purchasers of the V Studio... but then he simply sent me a link and serial number isntead of trying to make it where I can use the online store...
    ..so I assume that means the online store won't recognize us... so go ahead and call 888-cakewalk and they'll set you straight.

    Hi
    I bought the VS 700 and went to the free update page.
    Selected the physical version of 8.5 for $19 bucks.
    When I check out I get an error at checkout message every time.

    How can I get it?
    Just call sales?

    hi robin  my name is maurice coppola from australia and i have bought the vs 700 studio in april this year and love it .i am trying to get the free upgrade to 8.5 but it says im not elligible which i think i am ,  can you please help, as i have emailed support with no response, i am getting frustrated . thanking you in anticipation .maurice

    Is anyone else getting no response from Cakewalk when sending messages directly or posting here? I'm a long-time user and a big fan but unimpressed by the level of support. Can anyone verify that as a user of Sonar 8 and the VS700C consol, I'm eligible for the free upgrade to 8.5?

    Previously I was offered some free material (DVD/book) if I upgraded directly via Cakewalk and that didn't arrive either. This isn't looking very good from where I'm sitting: I've invested a lot in you people...

    Posting here will rarely get you a response from Tech Support. As to contacting them directly, you might have to wait for your turn so to speak. I've always gotten great response from tech support. Sometimes not as quick as I'd like but a response and solution none the less. I've gotten solutions to problems I thought were closed several weeks later. They were working on it.
    As to the free update: Did you purchase the V700C in the time frame outlined? Did you get a notification at time of purchase? Why don't you call them.
