Ever since I started using IE9 the Cakewalk forum has been giving me trouble...
I don't know why or how to fix it but almost everytime I post it stops responding, I get a box at the bottom of the screen telling me it is not respnding with a click box to recover the page. I recover and it posts the message or refreshes the page (sometimes it just stops for no reason but it is doing it a LOT). Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or what I can adjust to maybe fix it? I have not had it happen on any other site, only this one. and yes, I did try ie9 and went back to ie8... then I thought it over and tried it again.. 9 is better than 8 but I am getting tired of this quirk. Thanks Julien

J - are you using 32bit or 64bit IE? I had several problems with IE9x64bit and went back to 32bit app.

That's really strange Julien.... I switched to IE9 at home and it took a slight adjustment to using the the tabs, but I find it much faster when loading websites and general internet usage. I never had any issues with the Cakewalk forum....check the Computers forum as there was a thread about this.....sorry to hear that.

64 bit... haven't thought about that. I'll try going to 32, thanks. It happens only here and either when I post of if I go to another window for a while then come back. I click to go somewhere here and it just sits until I click again, then I get the message... weird that it only happens here, maybe it is this particular forum software. I will try 32 bit thanks. o i 86'ed ie 9 fast..did a system restore and got rid of service pack one as well..now life is okay I tried instaling the 32bit browser. I did a little reading online and it was easy. You can use both. You just right click on the desktop, create a new shortcut and paste this in the box: C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe then click finish. We will see how it works. I too rolled back ie9 soon after instaling it then I decided to try it again. I think I am getting used to it. I also found out while reading that Comcast does not support the 64bit browser... so that could be part of it. They need to get up to speed. Why did you lose SP1? I haven't noticed any problems from it, that I know of. Is there something I should be aware of? Thanks, Julien

Well, I can tell you already after that last post.. this did not fix it. I guess I will roll back to ie8. FWIW, it seems to be somehow related to how long I sit on a page typing an answer or reading.. or if I leave and come back. Usually if I don't linger or if I post a second post soon after, like this one I am not editing, it works right... weird. Julien

that is really odd. not sure why it would do that. Like I said I've been using the 32bit app of IE9 ever since I upgraded my computer. I have win7x64 SP1 and my world is "hunkey dorey".

Google ie9 "not responding" and you'll get a ton of results.... now if I could get my "o" key to work all the time I will be set. This HP keyboard is the worst... I have to hit the "o" right in the middle and the "a" and the "L" too, and if I hit the bottom of the spacebar it doesn't respond. I have had to really slow my typing down LOT because of it... but it is fast and good other than that. Man, I am glad I rolled back to ie8... ie9 is still buggy. Julien

Have your considered Firefox? I don't install IE when re doing OS for over a year now, I don't miss it. Once in a while Firefox will release a buggy update but `99% of the time all is good.

As I am on Chrome the one I know for Internet Exploder, I mean, Explorer 9 is the torn page icon...press that and compatibility mode is turned on...it still does the trick..

At least you guys can change versions. I installed IE8 and all indications on the computer is that I'm using IE8 but I'm constantly having sites telling me I'm using outdated IE6 and should upgrade. Then the frustration is rather than get a solution I get a workaround- use Firefox or something else.

FWIW, ie9is no longer giving me any trouble. I went with an olderversion of FF for a while but it started to give me problems so I tried ie9 again and it seems to be fixed now. If you want to stay with ie8 see if you can turn off updates but I'd try 9 if I were you. Of course I install all the updates etc, that might make a difference. J
