Forum Question: How do you insert a link to another thread?

I see people doing this all the time and I've searched for info about it but I can't figure out how to copy a thread's address to paste into my message.

Thanks for any direction,
Rob

    You can use the link icon from the reply tool bar it looks like a chain. Alternatively enter the following but replace the curly brackets with the square brackets (same key un-shifted)

    {Link=the link you want to use} Text you want to appear for the link here {/link}

    I click on the "Message Options" menu and select "Message Number", then copy and paste the link http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2685379 from the popup

    Make it look like this (is what Karl is trying to say):

    [link=the link you want to use] Text you want to appear for the link here [/link]

    So say I wanted to link this thread, it would look like this:

    [link=http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2685379] Here is the link to this thread!!!! [/link]

    to get this---->  Here is the link to this thread!!!!

    Or you could do this to get a shameless plug in:

    Seriously, how dumb could I be?  Thanks Shawn (and all other equally good ideas).

    Again, I LOVE this forum.
