This is the same model I just ordered , this one should prove to be a good starter guitar for learning on and should sound great in my songs when I get that far with it in a year or so maybe two years .

It looks pretty and so does the case. Doesn't sound like a Les Paul but that's okay because it's not one. It's much nicer than my first two electrics. Have fun with it!

Thanks , I hope it will end up good as a first starter guitar . The price was right for this type of guitar , can't afford those higher end Les paul's your talking about . If after a few years I improve playing it then hopefully I'll be able to buy a different one like a good Fender Strat , see what happens in the next two years .

ive got 2 les pauls, one is an epi like yours and i love it,there is a bit difference in the action and over all feel, but not much, the thing i like about the epi is the tone and volume knobs are pop up/ and phase switches like jimmy page has.its such a boost. really nice choice, like the color on this one you got. mine is white with gold hardware. my studio(the real les paul) is sunburst. im also fasinated by strats.love them.

Thanks Chuck now I might kick myself in the ASS for making the switch back to the first electric guitar I picked out the other day . I just called and cancelled that guitar order and went with this Traveler Guitar for $549.00 . http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EG1CStBlk/ This guitar is very small in size but it has a full size fret board and the neck is set up differently as you can see . But heres the cool thing about this guitar it sounds great as a lead playing guitar and has great electric struming sounds to it sort like this guitar you told me you had that I just cancelled . The other thing is this Traveler EG-1 Guitar has this built in AMP to practice with is your traveling and you can plug in any MP3 player and jam along with your music for practice so that was another reason I went with this guitar . Another reason is its made really rock solid , maple neck and adjustable trust rod but other great features . I hope I made the right choice switching guitars , if I didn't then I will have to chain my wife to the wall and scream at her ! LOL Yea with this guitar the guitar tuners are built into the body , the neck looks like its been chopped off but thats the way its made . Alot of people who are pro players say they really like this guitar , it got great reviews from many different sites I searched out last week . Anyway I hope I made a wise discision , I think the Traveler will work out great to learn on . I can always buy another one in a year , maybe a good $1,000.00 guitar on sale but first I have to be able to play the guitar . Practice till my fingers drop off thats going to be me for the first year , wife will beat me silly if I don't learn to play and then buy another expensive guitar ! LOL By the way I like your music , are you using Sonar Home Studio XL ? I have that DAW too but use Project 5 mostly . Cheers - James

Now you're going to be limited with tone by having only one pickup.

Yep, It's nice to have the neck and bridge tone options to choose from. The last Epi Paul that I had, I changed out the pick ups to Gibson pick ups and the guitar came really close to sounding like a real Les Paul, which I also own. In a lot of ways, I actually thought it sounded and played better. I ended up pulling the pick ups out, putting the old back, and selling it for a new Epi Dot 335. I put the pick ups in that one and it is really sweet now as well.

Scottytunes Now you're going to be limited with tone by having only one pickup. I stayed up last night thinking about this Traveler guitar , I started thinking about that one pickup and the Bolt on neck wondering just how good is that compaired to a glued on jointed neck . If something happens with the neck on the glued on type your screwed when trying to have it fixed and could be costly . I spent all of last night hunting for a different guitar and found a few neck-thru-necks and they say they are the best to buy if you want good TONE and Sustain . I sort going crazy over searching for the best less expensive good starting guitar that is built to last , has great playabity , great neck & fret action with no fret buzz . Thats the guitar I'm looking for , now Fender makes this $379.00 Telicaster guitar thats made in China but is suppose to be really great . It got really great reviews and sounds great too but that one is a glued on neck . I'm still looking , my wife thinks I'm crazy for not wanting this Traveler guitar because of all the built-in features but like you said it has only one pickup on it . Its getting plenty of great reviews and I think its 1005 American made too . We searched everywhere to find out where that guitar was made and all we can come up with is California .

i dont know man. guitars like this are sometimes a flash in the pan, they make this year and next, but in 5 years from now people are saying hey, what ever happen to those guitars with no necks and the tunners in the body? "o well the design had a flaw" with a les paul you know what your getting. years and years of quality, even if it is an epiphone. your choice, wish you luck.

Hey Chuck & Scotty stayed up till 4:00am looking at guitars again and this is the guitar I decided to buy . I have to dig deep I mean DEEPER into my pocket to buy this guitar , the VOX AMP I picked out and the HARD CASE I ordered but this package deal is well worth digger deeper into my Bank Account . Here it is a cool guitar ! http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ET39NANH This is it on SweetWater but I'm not buying it from them now ,I'm buying it from my local music store down the street a big music store had this one in stock to look at and play thru the AMP I'm also buying a small 20Watt VOX AMP. This AMP has a total of 99 preamps to choose from , a cool little practioce AMP ! Heres the AMP I'm buying its a great little practice TUBE AMP for what I'm buying it for on sale too . http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VT20Plus/ This guitar I love because of the pickups in it , its plays as a electric and can play and sound just like a real acoustic guitar . Solid MAPLE body for great tones and sustain , for $799.00 its a SWEET deal . Retail price was $1,300.00 , this guitar should give me years of good playing use and great to learn on too . The other cool thing about this guitar it has a built in MIDI jack , yea you plug it in right into your computer and record with it and they include this free recording software with it too . I don't need the recording software but its free anyway . http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VT20Plus/ Sad thing is I have to call SweetWater and cancell my guitar order , this music store is giving me a package deal that includes a hard case for this guitar for just under a $1,000.00 where with Sweetwater I would be paying a $100.00 more to get the same deal . Plus when I go to buy it at the store this Friday I can take it home and use it untill my ordered one comes in . They are going to order me another one just like this one in the same Natural color and when it comes in I'll return the floor demo guitar . I told him I didn't want the floor model I want a brand new one out of the box never handled in the store , a fresh new guitar . This guitar really sounds great after watching this video . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPVnoTYHgMA Heres the acoustic sound on this guitar , its almost like I'm buying two guitars electric & acoustic VERY COOL ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Drpj_zYrRws http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Drpj_zYrRws

"Hay Suse!" Dude! I'm glad you're getting a new guitar? Really, I am. But it's hard enough to get any play on our music here? Without posting about your new guitar? or someone who's really good on Youtube? I mean really "record some music?" Post it? And let people enjoy and comment on it, "or not?" But please do not post your favorite recipe? Or youtube video? or about your new guitar? Seriously? It's a songs forum? Look at the name. Post about your new guitar when you post a new song "with the new guitar" PLEASE! And that comes not just from me, "I guarantee you..." Please? Please... Give it a rest. Post about "your music" comment on others who post "their music" Please do not post about the new paint job on your car? Your new guitar? A new guitarist on Youtube? Your new tube of calk? "It is a songs forum?" Please post your songs, or comment on people who do. But to post that you're getting a new guitar? And no, not that one, but this one? And no, I really think this other one is going to be excellent? Seriously, please for me "and everyone else?" Please post this shiz in the coffee house forum? Or gear? This is "the songs forum dude." Thank you (from everyone)

Sorry Robby , guess all the excitment is the reason plus I thought maybe I would get some feedback on this final new guitar I'm buying this coming Friday . Believe me when I say man this has been one ride searching for an electric guitar thats not cheap and very playable and enjoyable to learn on . Like I said knowing theres so many great guitar players here some feedback is a big help after all I'm a complete beginner shopping for a decent guitar to learn on and hopefully in a few years to record with . Now that I have the guitar picked out I plan on taking some guitar lessons starting next month till the end of this year . I checked in the music store where I'm buying this guitar its $100.00 per month WOW music lessons have really gone up skyhigh ! Anyway with some guitar lessons I'll be able to startout on the right foot when learning how to play chords and scales and everything else that has to do with setting up the guitar & AMP to get those crazy cool rock and country sounds I want to play . Oh yes I have started working on another new song by the way , I started it and then put the brakes on that new song project to search for this guitar . Now that my shopping is finished I can get back to working and creating that new song I started four days ago . Sorry for the BUMP - James

Before you MOUTHOFF maybe you should checkme out , NO I don't work for SweetWater but I do like buying from them and have purchased mostly all my music gear from them over the last SIX years ! AS for my Talent I do not claim to be a Pro but I do play DRUMS , Played for eighteen Years and stop back in 1998 untill just three weeks ago when I started playing again . I played for almost 18 years , played in bands and did some studio playing took drums lessons for three years off and on as I could afford them way back when I started . As a kid back in the fourth grade I took Piano lessons for a year and then gave that up because I was more intereasted in drums . Six years ago I started messing around with a keyboard again and started buying CAKEWALK products . Spend alot of money on CAKEWALK products . I started out with MUSIC CREATOR 3 then 4 , Bought Sonar Home Studio 7 XL and then finally PROJECT 5 , Rapture 2.0 and most of the Dimension LE synth addons package for $180.00 for my DAW PROJECT 5 . SO WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING ??? As for my music I have posted here on this forum in the last SIX years there have been MANY ! Here is one of my songs LAZY SUE , I just added real drums to this song I CREATED ! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12178651&q=hi&newref=1 Here are most of the new songs I created back in 2012 and this year 2013 , YES I do SING and I do WRITE LYRICS to my own songs ! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=1251707&content=music Heres one song I recently created back in 2013 , I created all the music and wrote my own lyrics for my song I CREATED and I do all my own SINGING ! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11911178&q=hi&newref=1

im not sure the wildman put it in a way that would have been as productive as im about to try and explain. (nothing against you mr. wildman,I actualy respect your opinion). i think what he was trying to say though is,this is the song forum and its for songs and just because there is more traffic(people) in here than there is in the "instruments" section of the forum, its kinda not really fair. im sure you can only imagine what it would be like if everyone starting posting song/guitar specs, you tube videos, pictures of there pets, mustache pointers.. :) you understand. if i have something i need advice on and theres not many people on that part of the forum where it belongs, well than it would kinda be like... cutting someone in line at the coffee shop to post it in a part where alot of traffic is. because someone else is saying hey,i waited my turn where there was no traffic, how come he gets to do this? i can honestly tell you right now,its got nothing to do with you personaly, anyone who does this, gets the same treatment. some people explain it better than others. :) I'd like to think ive been as open and honest as possible and trying to give you my best advise, but i must bow out of this thread now and any other future threads that are off topic in the song forum section. i have no problem just ignoring the threads that dont belong in the song forum, like this one and the 14 year old kid from you tube. they are very interesting and i would love to help, but there in the wrong place. i listened to your music and gave an honest review. so please dont take any dis-respect by my me saying,i wish you luck with your new guitar and amp. i would also further this conversation and give as much advise i could if this topic was in the correct place. :) thats a smiley face..................... ^ That means i hope you enjoy your new toys. Best of luck

Not a problem Chuck , yea your right maybe I did post this in the wrong area of the forum . Thanks my new toys WHATEVER I call them instruments but some call them toys . Anyway I think WILDMAN started off on the wrong foot with his comments acting like I just suddenly popped up on this forum for the very first time ! But yea I see your point and yes I'm working on another new song project right now . In this next song project I'm going to TRY with no Promises but try to fit in a very small guitar section using my new guitar once it arrives and after I have had time to practice three or four basic chords . Anyway I guess I'll let this post die off and you will hear from me soon with something new . James

MY FINAL GUITAR PICK - ITS REALLY GREAT!

I love how all the dumped threads look new to me (since I avoid those nasty back alleys upstairs) so I start reading only to see that they've been going on for a while before I ever see them. Once again, I can't help but notice that the real tools seem to post upstairs - more support for my decision to avoid those places. All of that said, based on the topic title, I thought this entire thread was about a new plectrum. Imagine my disappointment when I find it's actually about a guitar...

Which $100 (worthless) guitar synth software? (But (IMO), getting a real guitar will definitely be a better way than settling for the alternatives)

Mesh Which $100 (worthless) guitar synth software? (But (IMO), getting a real guitar will definitely be a better way than settling for the alternatives) Its called STRUM ELECTRIC , your suppose to be able to add guitar to your music using a keyboard but its CRAP for what they ask . I paid $100.00 when it was on sale during last years holidays . They normally charge $180.00 , glad I didn't pay that much for it . I have tried a few different guitar software products , paid $160.00 for the first one and it too wasn't all that great but better then the second one . Thats why I decided screw all this software guitar crap I'm going to buy a really decent guitar , take some guitar lessons and hopefully in a year or two from now I will be able to add REAL guitar to all my music if I wish to do that plus I want have ask anyone hear or antwhere else to add guitar for me . Being able to play everything myself is much more rewarding and fun too . I talked to the sales person I have been dealing with for years at SweetWater and he is going to give me the same deal the local store is going to give me in price so today I cancelled with our local music store and and will be buying from SweetWater this coming Friday . My guitar and AMP should be shipped out this Friday he said COOL ! The guitar case will be sent to me a few days later , they haven't gotten their shipment in and will be the following tuesday . I'll have to wait another week to play my new guitar but thats cool because I would rather buy from SweetWater , they ship everything in perfect shape .

I think Epiphone make great guitars. I'm one of the lucky few to have picked up one of their "Spotlight" PRS copies in 89 or so, they only made a few before the threat of lawsuit from PRS made them stop production. It really is a sweet guitar and I've always toyed with the idea of buying another Epi based on the build quality of that one. In fact I'm in need of a humbucker guitar so may pick up an Epi Les Paul later this year.
