Hi Tim,
I use Music Creator 4 which is based on the Sonar Home studio 6.  I have programmed up a lot of short cuts which I use with my numberic keypad. I have found that for a remote transport as well as for midi editing purposes that it is a real time saver at times, otherwise I still use the mouse quite a bit.

I have an MS Wireless 5000 mouse, it's been great.  I've had it at least a couple of years, tracks well on pretty much any surface, feels good and the battery life is pretty good.

I had a hand on experience in the store with this today Dan. felt pretty good.
Actually, I never even considered anything Microsoft (because it's Microsoft). But, I was impressed at least compared to Logitech.
Thanks

Sounds great, Tim!

I finally decided to try actually finishing a piece in X1...mostly because I'm not in a big hurry to finish it, so I have time to learn as I go.  After only an hour of hunting for the shortcuts and how to do things, etc....I have 2 new measures written.  For two whole instruments!  lol

This will take some time, but I think I'll get it.  I'm glad I didn't START with X1.  Lord knows I had enough trouble with Music Creator 3! Just ask Reece & RobertB and a few others. :)

I used to buy logitech all the time but they seem to me to be headed downhill, so the last couple times I've bought MS Keyboards & Mouse and I have to say I prefer them.  This last time I bought the Keyboard/Mouse 5000 wireless combo and both have performed really well.

+1 all; I'll add

I'd stay away from the computer pens (Wacom, Genius, etc.) that some producers use (for precision's sake)

I tried that route awhile and it cramped my style (and desktop).
