Hey Tomek thanks for the info (and everyone else as well) I will definately call tomorow, I do really like the Tannoys and I know them so well BTW I have been using a 15 year old Nakamichi amp to power them..I have also been looking at some inexpensive monitors. The ones that sounded alright in my budget are the Krk rokit5's and I thought the behringer 3020's(I think thats the model) were surprisingly decent..maybe because I didn't expect too much due to much thrashing in various forums . I have also listened to the Yorkville ysm passive's and they too sounded good.Too many choices these days maybe I'll just get the Tannoys fixed at least there is no surprises there..

M-Audio BX5: Midrange megaphone. I'd pass on these.

Does anyone have an opinion on the M-Audio BX8's? Seems like they'd be better than the BX5's...

I've tried to answer some of the more common SHS questions:

Hi Zane,
I gave the M-Audio a whirl back when I was shopping around..

Im and audio snob. For me the M's didn't quite cut it,
but hey, that's just me, it REALLY IS up to what YOU like.

What I did was decide on a budget, grab my fave CDs,
go down to the stores a listened to everything within, under and over
my price range..

Keep in mind these are speakers that you will
be listening to at close range for long periods of time.
Go for something smooth and non-fatiguing.

Hope that helps,
Tomek.
