I've just bought a new computer - a 64-bit i7 running Win 7 - downloaded the software and programs again and installed them all to the default directories as specified by the installers. The problem I'm having is that, when I try and load any sounds from the Dimension Pro>Expansion Pack 2>Grooves directory within the Dim Pro program, I get the error 'Multisample Not Found'.

I have found similar discussions here (http://forum.cakewalk.com...ot-found-m1670416.aspx) and here (http://forum.cakewalk.com...oundquot-m2661925.aspx) which have raised similar issues, but any solutions found by the authors of those discussions are unclear to me. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the expansion packs to no avail. I have never had any other instances of Sonar installed on this machine - it's brand new, and I have not moved any files or folders from their default install locations. I also had the same problem with the Dim Pro Expansion Pack 2 on my previous computer, and had issues with the Digital Sound Factory packs as well, just like Steve Strummer mentions in the discussion cited above, although I have not tried installing the DSF packs on my new computer yet. I find it unreasonable that I should have to muck around with the registry from a clean install. Please help.

Do you still have your old computer? If so, then copy over the DimPro multisamples and Programs. This way you won't need to install any expansion packs.

If you have installed things to the correct place, I think you have to hit F5 to rebuild the presets.

Hi Kev. My old computer won't boot up, but it suffered from the same problem, anyway, as I mentioned in the OP.

Hi Bob and thanks for the suggestion. This was mentioned in one of the other discussion that I linked to in the OP, and I have tried it but it didn't fix the problem.

Any other suggestions? Please...

Please list where things DID install - there seems to be a disconnect between wherever things got installed and where Dim Pro is expecting to find them.

Thanks Bob.
In regedit:

Multisamples Folder = C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro

I did a Windows search for hh_bonusbeats and got the following results:

File Folders = C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\70 - Drum Loops

SFZ Files = C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples

PROG Files = C:\Program FIles\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs\Expansion Pack 2\Grooves

Also, PROG Files = C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs

Do I need to move the SFZ files up from the Multisamples folder to the Dimension Pro folder?

Well, I have the following folder structures for Dimension Pro 1.5

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples

And within the above folder are a bunch of folders, like the following:

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\01 - Grand Piano
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\02 - Drums
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\03 - Organs

etc...

And within each of the above folders are sub-folders with files with 'flac' extensions, and also files with 'sfz' extensions.

Using Regedit, in the Local_Machine key, in the 'dp' key in Cakewalk Music Software, there is a key called 'Multisamples Folder', and its data contains: 'C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro'.

In the 'dp' key, there is another key called Contents Folder, and its data also points to: 'C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro'.

I had downloaded some X2 Dimension Pro content, from the Content Club, and that included a Holiday Pack, and some Factory Strings from Digital Sound Factory, and those sounds are also found in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples.

I hope the above helps,

Hi Bob, thanks again. I might have just figured something out. I don't have multisamples for any of the sounds which show up within Dim Pro in Sonar (in the Expansion Pack 2>Grooves directory), and the only Expansion Pack 2 multisamples that I do have in the C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro folder of my computer, are ones that don't show up within Dim Pro in Sonar.

For example, in my C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro folder, I only have hh_bonusbeats_90_01, 06, 12 and 21, whereas in Dim Pro, I see 03, 04, 05, 07, 08, 10, 11, 13, etc. So, there's also some missing from both. I only seem to have the PROG files for the latter ones - the ones which show up in Dim Pro - but not the SFZ files. And, these PROG files are only found in my ProgramData folder: C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs.

Could you confirm whether you have the entire sequence of hh_bonusbeats_90 files in your Dim Pro program, and that they play okay for you?

Well, I have a bunch of ones for hh_bonusbeats_*, split between 80's, 90's 100's, in the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\70 - Drum Loops

How did you do your installations of Dim Pro expansion packs?

Did you somehow move a bunch of stuff around?
