  • i cant find my mic in the input all it says is none

so im trying to record but on the track input when i look for my mic all it says is none i used to have it but now its gone how do i find it

So if your computer used to "see" your microphone, as opposed to the interface it was connected to, then it must have been a USB microphone. Does it show up as working in the Windows device manager.

yes its usb and it wont show up at all for input device

it says it works perfectly but it only shows on output but not input so i cant record vocals

I assume then that you are talking about it not showing up in Sonar. I am somewhat at a loss as to why it is showing up as an output if it is a microphone. The following thread discusses some general setup issues for USB microphones.

btw if you are looking for help it would be helpful if people reading your question did not have to guess about everything. Take enough time and effort to write a clear explanation of what exactly you are doing, the model name or number for any equipment you are using, and how everything is connected, what dialogue or setting window you are talking about etc. Getting useful help on a forum is a lot of work for the person asking the question.
