Has any successfully installed the Frontier Design Tranzport in windows 8.1? it's not allowing me to do so.

Yes, I have it.
I don't remember exactly, probably just set the compatibilty for Windows 7 into the installer. (not difficult).
 
No problems at all (win 8.1 x64).

I have mine connected and it works fine.  However, I had to install it in a compatibility mode (don't remember but I think it was Vista compatibility mode, but may have been Win 7).  I tried to install it in the native Win 8 mode but the Tranzport program reported incompatible OS.
 
I wish they still made these.  The Recording light in mine does not work (but it does set the record on in Sonar). 

Oh ok. I will try Win 7 compatibility mode. I was trying XPsince that was the last version I had it working with. Thanks a ton

Mmmm, I tried now, and even the red led while recording is working.... (both the red led indicating that a particular track is armed, then pressing the rec button, the recording begins and its red led switchs on...).
 
I did not tweaked much anything.... it is in "tranzport native" mode and into sonar I selected the tranzport plugin....

Ok, so you selected "worked in a previous version of windows", under which version of windows select "Windows 7"?

By the way, in my opinion, tranzport is really a wonderful piece of hardware and I can't understand why it is no more produced.
 
A lot of people is using various systems (with tablets, phones ecc) but tranzport (once installed) is always ready, simple, reliable and much more "usable" than other remote systems....

Giorgio, I agree.  I tried several iPad applications and was not happy with any of them.  The iPad apps did not have all the functions the Tranzport has and it required the PC to be "on line".   A wireless keyboard and mouse will work but the Tranzport is much smaller and more portable.
