  • Do I have to buy a separate license?

I have been on the Windows platform forever. I just recently acquired a Mac Pro. While my primary recording rig will stay windows, but I was wanting to use some of Cakewalk's products on the Mac. I have Rapture and Dim Pro through purchasing X3. Can I download the versions for the Mac and simply use the licenses I already have or do I have to buy them separately for the Mac?

Thanks

David

I can't answer your question , but I am very curious on how you are gonna get it to install on your Mac
I'm running OSX 10.7.5 and I can't get my purchased DVD disk version of  Dimension Pro  to install ….
good luck

That's a fine question.  You may need to contact Cakewalk Technical Support for an answer for that.

You might also be able to get an answer on that over the weekend, if you were to send a private message to a couple of the Cakewalk folks who sometimes post here in the forums at odd times.

Typically, you can install a licensed version of Sonar on more than one computer, but your license only allows a SINGLE copy to be used at any one time.  So, I have 3 computers, and have Sonar X3 installed on all 3, but I NEVER use more than one computer at a time, so only use a single licensed version at any 1 time, and am therefore in compliance with the licensing terms.

I am truly grateful for Cakewalk allowing me to do as I do with their approach to licensing.

But your situation is potentially different, in that I think those may be entirely different product licenses, although since it is the same 'product' and just a different configuration.  The Mac versions may have different registration key values.

I would think that even if the registration codes worked, that it would be a good idea to contact Cakewalk to make sure it is OK to do.

DimPro and Rapture are not supported on 10.7 and higher. I have read about ways to get them installed; it required running a supported OS. There are numerous threads about it in the Instrument forum. Here is an example http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2633949

The licensing thing should be ok.
If you look in your account, you will see one serial number and one registration code.
When you click download, you have the option of which installer to use(on products that have a Mac version).

Thanks guys...sorry for the delay in responding. As I understand, Rapture and Dim Pro only work on older versions 10.7 and below?? This is odd...I'll certainly research this...thanks again folks!
