Alex,

Do you have any of the Waves plugins referenced in this thread?
Do you have Equilibrium or Compassion?
Do you have any of the other plugins mentioned in these "doesn't save plugin settings" threads?

If not - I'm struggling to think how you can be helpful (although well intentioned) here.
If you do - how about loading them up and reporting back exactly how they work (or don't work) in X3b or X3c and X3d? Also - do they work in X2?
Thanks.

May I refer you to #27 and #29 (I do not wish to get into a pointless circular argument).

From what I see you don't have Waves plugins, yet you are peddling this as the same issue with DMGAudio plugins (it may well be but who's code is at fault is to be decided, I have my own opinions as you know). It appears that none of these plugins are hooking in correctly into Cakes VST engine in X3D when it comes to the presets (assuming your issue is absolutely identical to the OPs?), and it also appears I still have two questions that remain unanswered, anyway over the the OP as it's his thread not yours or mine unless you have anything helpful to contribute (an answer to my questions would have been nice but I guess you are not going to supply them).

BTW I don't see any point in reconfirming an issue that has already been clearly explained by the OP and confirmed by Bapu (i.e. further testing is not required, not that anything I do should be required).

Thanks.

Alex, that is an amazing compilation you've got going. Many thanks for your hard work, today was the first time I looked at your summary. I have to ask if you've sent the whole thing to Cakewalk for their comments. If you are not going to get an audience I have to wonder why you bother doing their work for them. It's a noble thing to be sure but does Cakewalk take you seriously or just sit back and chuckle.

I don't use half the things that are problematic and simply work around anything I do stumble on, but you're different. You've made it your mission to help Cakewalk and I'm not sure they're showing any gratitude or even respect for your efforts.

Thanks John much appreciated...!

Would you mind if I could redirect you to this thread post #28 where there is an ongoing debate:

Cheers :)

Exactly!!

Now if they'd just tell us what changed from X3c to X3d then we can go to the developers and maybe get a fix! ;-)

Guitarmech - please feel free to tell me to leave this thread, but I think it's helpful to know there are other plugins that have the same type of problems since X3d. (it's not just Waves). I'm also hoping that when one of us solves the problem - other people will find similar solutions.

We don't want to be stuck on X3c - not knowing if any future updates or versions are going to work with our plugins.

The best thing you can do it report the issue to your third party developer (in your case the guys from DMGAudio), and again it would still be helpful if you let us know if you did a VST reset (you've only stated you just did a rescan). I am beginning to think you haven't done this as the question seemed to be continuously dodged.

Cake and Audio Damage are quite happy communicating between themselves it seems:

Noel Borthwick [Cakewalk]
Regarding Audio Damage please submit a detailed recipe and I will follow up with Dave since I am in touch with him.

Cheers...

You guys can post whatever you want.  :)

I did reset and rescan btw. I did not inhale though...

There was a specific fix for Waves plugins, as documented in the X3C release notes, that may have helped other plugin processing. The bakers would have to say for sure since I do not know what they did or how the specific fix was tested for regression in X3D(probably not since it is broke again).

I report, you decide.

Praise the Lord ! Thanks for confirming at your end :). So that confirms it's definitely a coding issue.
DMGAudio issue however is still not confirmed.

I'm still trying to figure out if you're for real or not. I've mentioned this in other threads, and it's becoming a running joke (even Bapu is getting in on it) but here we go:

I have reset and rescanned and reset and rescanned and reset and rescanned many many many many times!!!

It doesn't help.

(this is a Waves thread, but just to clarify with Alex) Dave @ DMG is working on this, and I'm sure the guys at Cakewalk are responding. Maybe if we find a solution - the Waves users can benefit.

EDIT - I didn't inhale either. Is that the problem?

Not only did I reset and rescan, but I also UNINSTALLED X3D and REINSTALLED X3A-C
