I still need some help to get session drummer 3 working.
I have been through all the content of the thread: "X3 lost session drummer 64" and yet I still don’t see a concise explanation from cakewalk on how to properly fix the problem.
I have re-installed session drummer 3 as suggested
The dependency walker says I am missing IESHIMS.DLL ( but it is present in the right folder and I see that cakewalk don’t think this is an issue )
Is there a definitive solution yet.
I am using X3d studio version, Windows 8, 64 bit.

I would get on the phone with support as soon as they open their 6 hour phone support window.

Guitarmech111 ... I'm UK based, so don't fancy a long call to the US support line. Would prefer a solution that I could implement myself if possible therefore.

Too bad that Cakewalk doesn't have int'l phone support.

If my products were world based, I would certainly want to support the user base where they use the product. Even in the states here, 6 hour phone support is not the defacto amount of time for general phone support for any other software I use and need...

At minimum, I would send an e-mail to support explaining your issue.

This looks to be an issue with Internet Explorer and windows 8???

Have you tried to uninstall the IE or updating it? I am not running W8 yet.

Jump in on that thread and see if someone will post something else up to try. Support should have an official forum so users can get quicker answers outside of the 6 hour phone support window or the 24-48 hour e-mail reply window. Sometimes it is longer to wait if they forget your issue.

I have cross posted to the other thread as you suggested ( but this is actually the thread that I have worked through already ). Any other suggestions out there ?

... and I have just e-mailed technical support as suggested. Thanks to Guitarmech111

Hi, did you set the folder SD3 is in, in Sonar under Preferences ?
Also have you installed a 64 bit in Program Files and not Program Files (x86) ?
Hope your SD3 is installed and you just don't see it yet, did you go through all the VST lists in Sonar and did you not see SD3 in the Browser ?
I'd say you'll be able to Session Drum soon...

Good luck

Hi Wouter
Yes, I have used the preference setting to direct Sonar to the SD3 files ( and they are in the 64 bit folder )
I can see the files there ( including the dll ) but Sonar does not pick them up on a scan
Thanks for your suggestions

Not the ideal solution, but guess I would give 32bit Session Drummer a try then.
I know what it's like not getting a VST running, never got POD Farm running.

If it's no use, did you know Sonar launches faster from the icon in Windows taskbar ?
At least then 1 good tip from me then..

Good luck
