The Playlist bugs I reported 2 updates ago have still not been addressed. It's basically unusable in a live situation. I still have to use X2.

Specifics or references please.

Try to use the playlist with it set to always on top.

Confirmed... it will always take screen priority making it unusable in this scenario.

Even if you have reported this before you could please report it here for X3D, with proper steps to reproduce, and post the issue number here, thanks!

It sounds more like a feature request rather than an actual bug. Just speculating though.

Arto Vaarala Kirnu All inputs Omni / Sylenth input to Kirnu fine but .... When recording a bass say D Cam -Cypher or any VST  WITH INPUTS SET AS NONE it "picks " up Kirnu on Play back . Yes the Input echo is only on for the bass track . How ever when you then go to re-edit Sylenth it then also plays back the Arp

I can't reproduce this simply because I don't have these products. I would say I can't get Maschine VST MIDI out to work, but then it might be because I am doing something wrong (I'm a maschine newbie). If somebody has a way to reproduce this issue more generically with Sonar that would be good (i.e. using Cake products, or products supplied by Cake, and/or free utils supplied on the internet that may detect MIDI).

Just exported a Video from the Sonar X3d timeline. Its a project I have been working on for a while.

The video was originally H264 1920x1080 and usually I would have to export the audio and re-marry in Premiere and re-export and then send back to the Director.

So.......

Exported the video straight from X3d in H264...checked the codec in VLC and it reads the same BUT the playback is blocky, staggered (i.e losing frames left right and centre) and utterly useless for me.

The good news is at least it exports from Sonar with the new Video Engine but for me professionally this new video feature has added zilch to my workflow.

Very let down by this long time coming video feature.

Better luck next time Bakers!

Did you check this?

Media Foundation Video Support
As of SONAR X3d, SONAR’s video engine defaults to using Microsoft’s Media Foundation framework, instead of DirectShow. This fundamentally improves the way video files are loaded, played, edited and exported in SONAR. Media Foundation generally supports most older formats supported by DirectShow as well as many newer formats such as H264 video. If you experience compatibility issues with video files that worked well with previous versions of SONAR, you can globally revert to the DirectShow video engine by adding a configuration entry to AUD.INI:
To do this:
- click the "Edit Config File" button in Preferences | Configuration File
- Add the following lines at the top of the file
[Video]
VideoEngine=0
- Save the file from Notepad
- Click "Reload Config Settings"

Now subsequently loaded projects will use the new DirectShow engine setting. Removing the above lines, or setting VideoEngine=1, will allow SONAR to globally use the new Media Foundation engine.

One shall test. One doesnt have much hope but you never know....

So you disappeared off to this thread, so discussions about this issue are here:

I have now created a separate rather depressing thread for this subject.

jta, if you want to try and reproduce the midi-out issue then maybe download silktone's example vst?

Nope want to avoid third party products as much as possible (they have issues as well), nor do I want to learn another product. Best proven within the Cake environment. If somebody has steps please throw 'em, if anything this will demonstrate this is a specific Sonar issue. Cheers...
