Suppose I want to upgrade from my X1 producer Expanded to X3, because I would appreciate the improved stability. I have looked at the feature comparison between X3, X3 studio and X3 producer and see that the only things X3 producer has over the basic X3 are things I either have already (like many of the synths and the LP64 mastering plugins) or don't need (like the super advanced effects plugins).
If I upgrade to the basic X3, will I still be able to use the prochannel modules and vst plugins which I have paid for when I bought X1 producer expanded? Will they play nice in X3?
It is quite a difference in upgrade price between going to X3 or X3 producer, for stuff an ultra-low-power user such as myself will never need and the things I do use are already included in my X1 license. I would have wished for once long-time users (upgraded each step from CPA3 to X1) would get a free upgrade, even if it would only be every 3rd upgrade or so. As that will probably never happen, I will consider going to basic X3 as long as the answer to my question above can be answered affirmative.
