I get this all the time and cannot detect a pattern.  I just click the "OK...Whatever" button and continue, but it is annoying.

On one project I get this warning on the bass track which is pure audio going straight to master bus with no sends.  Other times I get it on audio tracks that are set-up to receive signals coming into the V-Studio interface from external synths.

Check if your Master bus has any sends assigned to "None" since that would also trigger this.
There is a Cakewalk.ini flag that can be used to suppress this warning. Go into Preferences | Initialization file, add a variable called WarnSilentBuses and set it to 0.

This solution may not be for everyone, as some prefer having the notice pop-up.

I'm using a modified version of the Jonas template and it includes a silent bus. I'm one that has this variable set to 0 so I don't have to click an extra box when I open a project. It was annoying for me, but for others I can see where it might be useful.

I just had this for the first time last night. Are you using "Sends" instead of the regular output menu dealymabob? If so that is why it is happening. I'll go snag what another helpful forum member posted for me to stop the message from occurring. BRB.

That's it. I forgot to check the sends output...

Sonar, you're fine. I'm the one sending bogus messages.

Just forget I was here.

I was having the same issue with a track; it also turned out to be the Send.  I had apparently had a send previously and changed it to "none", and also had the Sends turned off - but it was still giving me the warning message.  I deleted the send and got rid of the "bogus" message -- which I guess was only partially bogus...

I had the same. Fixed by deleting any sends that were set to none. Remember to skip through and check all sends on the track deleting all that are set to none.

It's not a BUG I don't think, I believe the answer lies in this thread which I started some time ago:
