dwardzala,

if it's not asking too much, could you give the step-by-step how to set up a "master blank pattern" for AD?

Thank you advance!

Step 1: Insert an instanc of AD.  Make sure to check "midi source", "track folder"
Step 2: select your midi source track and then go to "view" and step sequencer.  This will open up the step sequencer with just note numbers
Step 3: replace note names with respective kit piece. Example: change "C3" to "kick"
Step 4: go to the "?" in AD and choose "Open keymap" to see what notes the other parts of kit are mapped to
Step 5: Add rows to step sequencer by hitting "+" in step sequencer interface.
Step 6: Export as track template.  Although i would go farther by setting up commonly repeated setup items like assigning to individual tracks and buses  and saving as a project template first

Never tried putting the whole thing into a track template. Might be easier to go try, but
- when you have a folder and save a <Track template>, does it save everything? all the subtracks, the synth settings AND the step sequencer layout??
...seems like magic!

I saw this thread fly by and missed it. Subjacent made a really helpful post to set X3 folks up with Addictive Drums at this thread. http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2899224

He not only threw in a drum map, but track templates for easy use and threw in some other niceties.

I think I have resolved my issue of no kit loading with launching AD but I don't understand why.  I installed AD with one profile and when I launch AD the startup kit is ready to play but if I login using another profile and launch AD no kit launches and I have to build it from scratch.  Can someone tell me where would I go to launch the start up kit when starting AD from the other profile?  Thanks to everyone I was able to create the template and make custom beats it is a lot of work but I did it

Click on the Kit dropdown menu -> save as ->By saving a preset of your choice as "Startup.ADpreset", it will be automatically loaded when you load AD. I'm not sure about your profile issue but that's how to save a start up kit,

I am trying to convert an audio kick drum track to MIDI with Melodyne and then trigger a kick in Addictive drums. Is this possible? I'm just not getting it.

The key for me is making sure the track is as clean as possible. gates and filters help with this sort of thing.  i usually duplicate my track first so that I can mangle it.  You are niot looking for good sound  but rather very distinct separation and strong volume.  here is a good blog piece from cakewalk:

Not really having a problem converting the audio to MIDI. Just can't figure out how to make Addictive Drums play the MIDI track.

Quick way:
- Insert Addictive drums as a Simple Instrument track
- Drag the MIDI clip into the Addictive track
- Enter C3 in the Pitch field of the Event Inspector module in the Control Bar to set all the notes to the correct number to drive the kick drum.
