I am concerned that after 6 years on my current DAW and the security updates to Win 7x64, my install of Sonar Platinum has become corrupted.  When I run the latest update October -10, I get error messages:
In the Cakewalk\shared utilities\CW120Auto.dll; and all the shared midi plugins\*.dll

"Unable to register DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x3"

Pluginmanager.exe comes up with bad image where vcruntime140.dll is not designed to run or contains error.

And then the biggy - SONARPLT.exe - Bad Image - vcruntime140.dll is not designed to run or contains error.

What is going on and How can I get a good reinstall of SONAR?

Thank you so much!

Here are two threads regarding the RegSvr32 issue that should help:

http://forum.cakewalk.com/Unable-to-register-the-DLLOCX-RegSvr32-Failed-with-exit-code-0x3-m3687210.aspx

http://forum.cakewalk.com/Unable-to-Register-DLLOCX-Resolved-m3616960.aspx

Not sure about the others.  Perhaps a search for some of the key words would get you there. :)

It's also possible (though not definite) that fixing the RegSvr32 issue might take care of the others.  My reinstall a month ago did similar stuff to me, but after fixing the one, the others were fixed.  Good luck!

Hey,

Im find a oficial workaround of this problem.

Try this:

cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2016000033/Unable-to-register-the-DLL-OCX-RegSvr32-failed-with-exit-code-0x3

A lot of folks were having this issue a while back and most of these people had McAfee anti virus.
Then others it was a W10 update issue.
The problem seems that W10 updates would turn dll into files that show as being "0" bytes.
Solution was to find a back up of the dll and swap it out with the zero byte file.

So go find those dll. and see if they are zero.

Trust when I tell you this....it's a C++ 2013 issue, your existing library got messed up somehow. Luckily you can fix it by doing going here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
Download both the 32 and 64 bit installers. When you run them they will ask if you want to repair your current C++ 2013 libraries. Choose yes, let them do their thing and reboot the PC. You should be fine after that.

Have you tried rolling back to a previous version of Sonar?
This has solved a problem of Sonar refusing to load (and which makes me nervous, because you need access to CCC tp do that- how long will that really last...)

Rolling back won't fix it.

I'm also a bit nervous as for some reason last week (maybe a day after the announcement) my plugin manager no longer shows up in the utilities drop down menu.  I can get it if I right click an effects bin and get it from there but it's also been a little more "crashy" than usual, too.  Just want to get these last couple of things done one it...
