@Tripod - thanks for the additional explanation - sorry I missed the boat.
I do see it has ASIO drivers available and understand you are using ASIO.
Can you please detail your interface settings? I believe in addition to Sample Rate that your interface may use something like 'number of samples' for buffering, (some use a different term - ASIO Buffer Size) - the functionality is essentially the same, just a different way of doing it. Anyways, what do you have that set to, as well?
And, what is the sample rate set to in Sonar?
Also, I did not see it mentioned (that I can recall), but are these issues happening in a blank project, or for an existing one with plugins?
And just for a test, can you try the following?
1. With Sonar NOT running, try changing the settings for your interface to: 48khz Sample Rate, number of samples to something like 192.
2. Disconnect and reconnect the interface.
3. Fire up Sonar and make sure your interface is the selected devices in Preferences>Audio>Devices. Do NOT yet open a project.
4. Go to Preferences>Audio>Playback and Recording, make sure ASIO is specified, and try checking the Always Open All Devices box, then click Apply.
5. Now go to Preferences>Audio>Device Settings and make sure your timing masters are set appropriately to your interface. Also make sure the Sample Rate is also set to 48 khz here and click apply.
6. Now start a new project, with the normal template and see if you still get this message, prior to doing anything in the project. If you do not get the error message, try inserting an audio track, selecting the audio track, importing an MP3 or WAV files, and hitting Play to see if sound is coming out.
Please try the above and post back.
Thanks,
