Just got one of these today and with following blades video, it's up and running in no time, however couple of things which may be due to Blades using Sonar producer 7 in the vids or that I'm on 64 bit win 7 and X2a. First off the E modes don't seem to work with Sonitus E.Q. and the BCF_View program just shows a pretty blue bar, even though Iv'e selected the BCF 2000 midi from right clicking the bar. It would be nice if these things worked but not the end of my world.

Take a look at the guide I wrote for the BCF although that is also several years old now. The Mackie protocol won't work with the Prochannel but it should still control the SOnitus EQ if you are on Studio (I think - I don't know). Here's a couple of links. Anything MCU related should work with the BCF

Thanks FBB, I'm checking them out now. Iv'e got the BCF view to work by installing latest 64 bit midi driver from Behringer, Just need to sort out the editing thing and I'm all set.

Unfortunately, I could never get the E modes to work with 8.5, X1 and now X2.

There was a lot of forum help, but, sadly it never worked.

-FBB - nice tut on the BCF2000 - mine died and I have to replace it - I find that it's kinda indispensable for doing quick rough level stuff when you are ready to start mixing.

One thing I could never get to happen is how th get the BCF2000 to do automation on the busses
- I can't get it to move off of the individual tracks

Any insights on this?  I only use it for basic track automation (volume pans and mutes) and not plugin automation.  That is too wacky for my brain.

Thanks much

I got this because I could no longer use my Yamaha 01x once I went 64 bit, shame though it is cos I loved the 01x and was used to it. The bcf is nowhere as nice a build and the faders sound like Arkrights till opening but it gets the job done for a fraction of the price.

Hello!
I have been using 2 Bcf2000s and a bcr2000!!
I have come up with a really nice way to control Sonar X2.
Normaly in mackie mode, to solo a track you need to press shift and the mute button. I dont like that cos I dont have visual display of what tracks are solo on the bcf2000. you need to press shift to see it.
So I came up with a nice way to have solo on one row and mute on the other.
I have also made my own custom mackie mode with functions I like to use. like bypass effect bins, automation on or off, and many more with pressing their own assigned button on my bcr2000 and bcf2000.

I have done some data mapping in midiox, and midi yoke so you need midi ox for it to work.
Now.. how its done.

open a midiox file.. put.  input your bcf2000
                                 output to midiyoke1

then you need to load the data map I have created.

now in Sonar, go to control surfaces and select V studio 700 as a control ruface plugin. NOT mackie control. and select input from midiyoke1 and outout to your bcf2000.

now you have a controller with seperate buttons for solo mute, and anything else you want to assign to button.. you can do that by using the v700 control plugin to assign functions

or you can also have more to choose from for othe buttons from the midi note map I discovered. (like midi notes 8 - 15 are tracks 1 -8 solo e.t.c)

I 2bcf2000s and a bcr2000.  one bcf2000 in a v700 control surface plugin. the bcr2000 in another v700 plugin and the other bcf2000 connected via midi to the bcr2000.

With a combination of an act plugin also connected to the bcr2000 I have A really nice controller that has anything I need!! from functions like

insert tracks, insert busses, mute, solo, stop, play, rec, automation enable, bypass effects bins, input echo on off, track view, console view, open effects, (without using the mouse) close effects, and other stuff.

If anyone is interested pm me!! I can send you the data mapping!!

Cheers!!!!

EliasO, are you running 64-bit Windows and 64-bit X2 ?

I ask because midiox and midiyoke are 32-bit and didn't think they'd run on a 64-bit system.

Looks interesting EliasO. I'm on 64 bit win7 will it work with that ????

Thanks Roy

I have a BCF2000 running on Sonar X2 in both Win 7 64 bit and Win 8 64 bit.  However, I mainly use it for the motorized faders.

I have no problems using it with audio level automation in tracks.
