I was just posting a reply to the thread and it vanished? Why would it be deleted?

I have Cubase 7.5, upgraded from 7.0.  The only thing good I found about Cubase  is the chord track.  Everything else is a PIA to use.  The program is clunky and not user friendly at all, I'll keep using Sonar till it doesn't work anymore, by that time, maybe something will come along that suits my work flow better than Cubase.  Unless Cubase has made some major changes since 7.5, it's a no go for me.

I used Cubase many years ago and had issues with it, mainly stability and crashing. That's how I ended up here. I also didn't like the fact that you have to pay for every update. I'm sticking with Sonar while it works but I will get another DAW to learn if it's a good deal. I'm favoring Studio One, but there are some nice features in Cubase and a better community, better hardware support etc.

There are be a lot of major changes in Cubase since 7.5 In the next days there will be a Demo from the 9.5.

But my heart is by SONAR.

I hear you. The crossgrade deal seems a bit fake to me at the moment. I'm in Europe but not seeing anything about a dedicated crossgrade deal for Sonar users on their site or online shop. It's just the standard crossgrade offer that applies to all DAWs and is the usual price. I wonder if they are just hoping Sonar users will fall for it and think they are getting a special deal when they are not. I wouldn't be surprised. Steinberg are tight arses which is something else that puts me off Cubase.

Is there such an offer from Sonar?  Cubase 9.5 looks promising.

No, there was another one in the Sonar forum that had quite a few replies going on. It just suddenly vanished!

I am satisfied with the half price from the normal crossgrade.

Probably will end up with Studio one, been trying out prime but then when I go back into Sonar...well its miles ahead, this just makes no sense that the best DAW has failed!
