What are your opinions on the comparison of the console emulation X2 and Waves NLS?
NLS emulation in my opinion is better.

It depends on what you mean by better musicroom. If you want console "feel" and interaction then yes absolutely. If you get along with mixing without this so-called feel then you don't really need to invest in anything else and you can use the X2 emu's like saturators/effect.

I would be interested in how it stacks up against other emulators. 

For now, using TB_Reelbus in conjunction with sonar's emulator provides a warm, full clean sound. Like that combo.
