jb101...well I don't really care if others have a problem with IE....but
I do care that I'm having a problem.

The instructions said download all the files...14 of them I downloaded...and
install the part 1 and it would load the rest...well that is not what happened.

Now I have to do what?.....rename files? all of them?...should I call them what I'm thinking?

I'm a guitarist...maybe they should have had one around to give this a test?
geeze....I'm pissed so I'll probably wait until .....hell freezes over...I'm wondering
if a hundred bucks is worth this ****.

I imagine some of those folks that sat in those chairs at 300 ft for over 3 hrs felt much like
I'm feeling right now.

It does seem unfortunate that the download is an issue for the browser that is installed by default on every Windows machine.

I've used IE 9 and had no issues. No need for me to append or delete anything.

the .exe files are just self extracting compressed archives. If you have something like WinZIP or RAR installed you can even right click each *.exe file and see what's contained in them.
If the download has a (1) appended its because there is a file already existing with the same name as the download file in the download folder.

Are you sure about that - i though Microsoft lost their law suit on that because of unfair practices, so it must be installed after you install the OS... Of coarse that was a long time ago.

To be clear, the "Internet Explorer issue" that has plagued many people was resolved within an hour or so of the downloads being available for everyone. Problem is if you already queued up the files it was too late for you. It should hopefully no longer be affecting anyone moving forward. It looks like a LOT of people jumped on starting the downloads very quickly this morning.

As some others have mentioned, if the files are being appended with (1)s or (2)s, I'd double-check you didn't download it twice. Most web browsers add the (1) or (2) at the end so they don't overwrite the existing file (since you can't have two files with identical names & extensions in the same directory).

While we do typically recommend Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox due to their built in download managers & ability to pause and resume downloads, you can still download with Internet Explorer.

In any case, if for whatever reason you folks end up with weird file names, try renaming them first per the file listing at http://www.cakewalk.com/x2install

P.S.

If I'm wrong about IE causing problems for anyone starting downloads now, feel free to correct me :)
