OK.
But you can make presets for any purpose, can you not? One for every particular purpose you normaly need. I have three different presets for the equivalent Export dialogue. I don't find it any more complicated or slow than having, say, a select all/deselect button.

Never thunk of that one.. DOH!!!!!

(After causing confusion in the pre X1 forum, I was pointed to the correct place.)

Is it possible in SONAR X1 to convert 2 mono tracks into a single stereo track.  WITHOUT routing through a bus?

If I use the 'bounce to track' option it gives me back 2 tracks which are stereo tracks but on track is the left channel with a blank right channel and vice versa.

After reading thru all the posts I can't decide if your Q was A'd, so if you're still wondering...
1. Pan each track where you want them in the mix
2. Select the tracks (no need to SOLO them)
3. Go to the TV menu TRACKS and select BOUNCE TO TRACK(S)...
4. Select the Preset ENTIRE MIX or WHAT YOU HEAR* (There are several selections so experiment)
5. Click OK
6. Done!

*If you select RAW TRACKS or DEselect FAST BOUNCE it will record them in real time. (???)
If you make changes to any preset you can save it as a new one for future expediency.

Double check the NEW TRACK output so you can hear the results. I have 3 output channels for my interface and this process seems to select the 1st one by default. I use the 2nd one for monitering so I have to change it.

Now, how do you reverse this process? (1 stereo track split to 2 mono tracks)

You may be looking in the wrong area such as Bounce to Tracks etc. Try looking into the Export options instead...
At the start of the other thread the OP was seeking an alternative to exporting audio and importing it back into the project, so I suggested using Bounce To Tracks instead.  Have we come full circle now?

No Kev999 it's my fault and this is not such a great suggestion after all. I don't think the Export options will do what the OP wants to do. I was just thinking it may be a solution. There have been some other ideas about the way this could be done and they are all good and effective. The Bounce to Tracks option that is mentioned above would be one way.

No Jeff, exporting will do what the OP wants, but the export by it's very nature will live outside of the project, so he'll have to import again afterwards.

All you have to do is solo the relevant Midi & Audio tracks and do a File > Export, using Main Outs, with no dithering and at a 32 bit render depth. Using the 64 bit mix engine is optional, as is using track/bus Fx/Automation.
